Nice those handguards look familiar 2LZ

I did manage to snap a few pics with my phone that I forgot about
I also have the fox bar pad but it seems to just slide and spin around freely even when velcro'ed as tight as possible, does it actually fit snugly on yours?

Thumbs Up

take some electricians tape (the rubbery sticky type) to your bar and put your bar pad back on over that. dunno why but on a dirt capable bar, sooner or later you'll come too close to, or actually kiss those handlebars! cheap precaution that saves a ton of dental/concussion /jaw damage.

I like the orange insets!
Bar pad.... What I did was trim a small slit (about 3/16"-1/4" thick) the length of the pad....then I put that slice inside the pad to shim it to the bar. Then wrapped the wrap around it.
Problem solved!

I'm not sure if it will stay there though. I also bought a little stick-on tach that's supposed to live between the handlebar mounts....that is completely covered from view by the bar pad. :-/

Usually a faster speed is indicated

Usually most, or all, speedometers on vehicles in the USA indicate a speed faster than you are actually traveling. A feature to save manufacturers legal problems when motorists receiving speeding tickets.

What is this little stick-on tach you speak of? Could you please tell us more about it and post a photo of it?

I ordered this. I just wanted something to get Mrs 2LZ through break-in, more than anything. She's always had a tach on her other bikes and is used to using them. It got decent reviews and seemed like it would do the trick.

I use a similar one but I'm cheap. $8 including shipping from Hong Kong. Just like this one, Ebay item number 161812072293. I use it mainly as a Hobbs meter (records engine run time) but it's also a digital tach.

I'm starting to think buying one of these CB's is like when you buy a house - you have all kinds of other stuff to buy that goes with it like curtains, painting and painting supplies, furniture, landscaping, other décor type stuff, etc. It is fun though.

Looks like your "shark fin" chain guard is on backwards.

Just an FYI but I should have the tach cluster ready for the TT in 2-3 weeks. Waiting on 2 prototype speed sensors to arrive at the moment but other than that it will be a bolt on no muss no fuss with an accurate speedo and an odometer in MPH......
