Price now reduced.
Description is odd - it says for 1 spark per rev then contradicts itself later. Mentions "2 stroke" and "2 cycle" and firing on each stroke and then says it will not work on multi-spark systems. Complete contradiction. Trouble is, for a refund you will have to send it back to China which will cost more than the thing is worth (been there, done that, got the tee-shirt). I think an eBay dispute for "not as advertised" will be the eventual answer, or similar with PayPal. Correspond with the seller and make sure that when you say you are returning the item, that they will refund postage costs. It's the law in UK/Europe that they have to under "distant selling regulations" for faulty goods or if not as described. They may simply refund the item and tell you to keep it. That has happened to me in the past for low-cost items. Good luck! Jeff DESCRIPTION ON THE WEB For ALL spark ignition engines with 1 spark per revolution Great for Cart Engines operating in the 9,999 RPM range, Outboards, Quads, Jetskis, Motorcycles and Dirt Bikes Works on all newer single cylinder 2 stroke engines as these engines fire on both the power stroke as well as the exhaust stroke. Works on all 2 cycle engines except a twin cylinder with power supplied by an double ended coil Will not work on multi-spark ignition systems Easy Install: Hook up two lead wires This hour meter reads up to 10000 hours and then resets to Zero The tachometer reads to 9,999 RPM Designed to work on all spark ignition engines with 1 spark per revolution - 2 cycle engines and some newer 2 cycle engines Will not work on multi-spark ignition systems Includes meter, hook-up wire, double sided stick rubberized mount and two mounting screws Specification: Display : Large 3/16 inch LCD display Reading : 9999.59 hours/minutes Reading :9,999RPM Accuracy: 1 minute or 10 RPM, Quartz Lead Wires :3 1/2 feet -Two leads, one is to be wrapped around a spark plug wire and the other is a ground wire Weight: < 1.0 Ounces Voltage Supply :Self Powered with internal battery rated for 35,000 hour of operation Temperature Range -4 to 158 Fahrenheit; -20C to 70C

Put the new front wheel on my bike from my parts Hi-Bird. Exact same wheel and brake rotor, even the same stock tires. Only difference was the Hi-Bird wheel hub and speedo drive were painted black. Here you can see the black hub with my stock Kinroad speedo drive. And the wheel is straight! Nice! No more wobble.
I also thought it fitting to put on the slightly smaller... and more rigid front fender. It was black... so matches my gas tank. And with the scared black showing through the original yellow fender... gives it a cool Mad Max look. I have started calling my bike "Mad Max"! Cheers!

Very nice. Your wobbly wheel can be easily straightened so you have a spare. Take it to the shop or watch the YouTube videos to do it yourself.

Yeah... I'm hoping to have luck attempting my own rim straightening. It seems like a very small lateral wobble... I'm hoping it'll straighten out.
I just received my spoke wrench set... so time to do it. Oddly... the Hi-Bird rim... which looks identical except for the black colored hub... uses a 5.4mm spoke nipple... whereas the Kinroad rim uses a 5.0mm spoke nipple. Glad I got the multi-tip spoke wrench! Cheers!

Regarding the Tiny Tach mis-readings. Turns out it reads RPMs on a 2-stroke just fine! Haha... tried it on my son's PW-50 that I finally got running (bad stator). So... I'll be keeping it as a tool... recognizing it's limitations. It was only a cheap luxury for the Kinroad... don't really need it on the bike.
Cheers!

You'll likely solve the rim wobble in no time.
That's cool about the tach on a two-stroke. Never thought of that.

Logged the Kinroad's first commute this morning (kids finally out of school... yeah!). I even put my car GPS in my pack to log the trip data. My commute is a rather simple 16 miles (one-way)... with 10 of those miles at 50 or 55 posted speed limits... and the other 6 miles at 35/40... with only a few traffic lights.
I was facing a stiff headwind this morning... and was giving my bike all it had in the 55mph 2-lane 5 mile portion of my journey. It was a challenge to maintain 55mph... I needed to tuck. I maxed out at 57mph. So I guess I wasn't holding up traffic too bad. I was happy to finally get to the 4-lane 50mph section... I could untuck and folks could get around me. The bike really shines in the 45mph and under zones (and parking lots)... where it's lightness is a joy. My speedo is working pretty well. I had the unit apart to clean and oil it... and it loosened up after those early miles (used to be way high). It surprisingly isn't that far off now. KPH is the large font on the main ring around the speedo...while MPH is the smaller, inner ring. Checked against my GPS it only reads about 8% high... so reads 61mph-ish when I hit 57mph today. Not too shabby. The odometer is way off... either that or it's in Kms. My GPS confirmed 16mile commute registered 22.8 on the trip odo. That's like 30% high... much higher than the 8% the speedo is high. Weird. If that is kilometers (instead of miles)... then it's ~12% low... so I don't know. Don't really care so much as long as it's consistent. I will only use the trip odo for re-fill gas tank range tracking. Front tire wobble fix is still on the list (a long list)... but it didn't bother me on this trip. The bouncy soft suspension is more annoying I must say. But it never bottoms out... so that's good... just pillow soft! Happy Riding! Cheers!

Thanks for the update.
I'm confused. I thought you fixed the front wheel wobble with the new wheel you installed in post #107.

So yeah... still got the wobble to correct. About to depart for my commute home. Think I'll avoid the 55mph 2-lane section. Cheers!

Glad to hear that your bike is ready for the commute.
You can likely straighten the bent rotor with just a crescent wrench. Simply identify the high spot, tighten the wrench on it and tweak it. You'll be amazed at how well that works.

I'll have to keep that rotor-straightening trick in mind for when I assemble my parts bike... thx.
I got to work on my front rim wobble last night. Re-watched the spoke rim truing video... then got busy. I put my bike on an engine stand... so the front wheel was off the ground and strapped the handlebars so the front wheel wouldn't move. Then I let all the air out of the tire (pulled valve stem). Next I untightened all the spoke nipples... so the spokes were still seated but not tight. I then taped a rim pointer to the fork and found the wobble. As per the video... tightened the spokes at the wobble that pulled the rim to the correct side to straighten it out. Did this on a few spots around the rim. I was able to get it pretty good... wobble gone. Then I did the tightening... every 4th spoke. Couple three times around gets all the spokes... then repeat to ensure they're all tight. Check rim pointer again. Check every spoke for tightness.... and done! Worked really well. Much better than before. I even checked all the rear tire spokes for tightness too. Good to roll! Cheers!

Spring update. My Kinroad was hibernating all winter long in the basement. I pulled it out today to see if it would start. I have expected it wouldn't... that the battery would have been weak and cranking it over would wear it down. But I was pleasantly surprised when I gave it full choke, a slight bit of throttle and hit the starter button. Fired right up and ran without hesitation. Glad I had put some stabil in the fuel... probably helped.
Took it out for a ride... and it's running well still. Great little China bike! Cheers!
