The project of the ninja 250 rims has begun!

I just received my rims and tires in the mail and must say that the paint job is quite horrible, in which i was thinking on renewing them by hopefully respraying them with a nice looking black color. I also will make sure to keep you guys updated throughout pictures and videos, so that other users that are thinking on doing this project as well can learn from my mistakes or procedures. I suppose that the first pictures will follow within the next days. However, It might take me until saturday to upload them, due to my schedule being quite over taken by college classes and a part time job.

Awesome! Cant wait to see what you find out. It will be interesting what you will have to do gearing wise to get the right ratio.

Keep us updated!

Well, I was thinking on using the same gears as before, which was a 17th front and 45th rear sprocket.

with the smaller diameter you may want to do 17 front and lower in the rear like a 43, I've seen rears as low as 39. would have to do some math to see the best combination.

I did the 520 chain dwap to use the standard ninja sprockets, I couldn't find any 420 sprockets to fit the ninja cush hub.... I am runni g a 13/38 combo in 520...I doubt that any bigger on the front would fit due to the increased chain hieght....

I'm hoping the Hawk sprocket will fit the Ninja cush hub.

I just realized that the rims did not come along with a sprocket hub. I did order one from E-bay today. However, this project might be delayed for a couple days longer.

I started disassembling my hawk today, due to the fact that my rear sprocket needed to be re-tightened. I am currently still waiting for my hubs and sprockets to arrive, as well as I figured out that a new chain had to be ordered too.

Anyways, I uploaded a picture of my hawk while working on the rear end.

How is the wheels project going?I hit a few snags trying to match the 17-45 ratio with 520 chain set up.The smallest rear sprocket I can find is 38t,I was aiming for 13-35.

I just realized that the hawk brake rotors will not fit onto the ninja rims pattern. This project will most likely be delayed for another couple days, due to my own stupidity.

@Sports Rider: I do kinda live in the area of rednecks anyways. lol
@ Bogie Boy: I'm running a 17th front sprocket with 45 rear (ninja sprocket).

hmmm I really don't think that a 17t 520 chain sprocket will fit in with the tolerances of the cases.....this is a 520 13 tooth sprocket onmy bike....
