Zongshen ZS167LMM engine and Mukuni VM26 carb
Hi
Has anyone got a Zongshen ZS167LMM engine and using a Mukuni VM26 carb I have a Apollo AGB 30 using Zongshen engine and have upgraded to VM26 carb as the Jing Ke carb was worn and sliding needle valve was bent and could not find a replacement. Could not find a Jing carb so went for Mukuni VM 26 as this has same size throttle slide of 24mm My question is does any one know what pilot jet and main jet size to use. Carb comes with 20 pilot and 100 main. Some forums suggest 30 pilot and 115 main to start with We live inland but are about 226 feet above sea level. Any advise as where to start would be appreciated. I know I may have to change the jets but wanted a base line to start with. Thanks |

Rick, to ensure we're giving good guidance, please show us a pic of the engine and the carb. A link to the carb would be fine.

Had to admit defeat on being able to start bike so its a trip to my bike mechanic. Could not get starter to work dispute checking all leads and could not get engine started from kick start. Problem is I am not very tall so find it tricky to kick start. Engine needs a tune up anyway so this may help starting. There is a good spark so it can't be to far away from starting but I just have enough know how to get it going. I asked my mechanic if he works on Chinese bikes " not if I can help it" was his reply but soon as he saw bike he relaxed as was very familiar with the Honda clone engine being a Honda trained mechanic 30 years ago. Should be picking bike up Thursday so will report with some photos of bike and how its running. |
