New Lifan 250cc Water-Cooled Engine!
Would this new 250cc water-cooled Lifan ATV engine fit into the Lifan dualsport bikes? The mounts look to be in a very familiar pattern. Anyone seen this yet? Who's going to be the first to buy one and install it in a GY-5?

The cool thing about putting one of these engines in a bike?
It has a reverse gear! I can actually see that being handy on a tight trail. Could you imagine the looks you'd get the first time someone witnesses you backing up on a hill? Did you notice the rubber inserts in the mounts? |

Sam, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!!!! . That looks like an amazing engine. OHC, and looks to have a conventional oil filter too. It would almost be a shame to mount that in one of these China DS chassis's, but an older big 4 jap bike with a blown motor would be a great choice!

I saw the rubber looking mounts too. Suppose you would need to hook up a back-up alarm too. Might be able to share the winker alert.

I was on the T-Motorsports website until after midnight lastnight. I found the radiator and all the hardware needed. It looks almost like a simple bolt-in and go affair. I'm pretty sure the transmission is only a 4-speed though.
My 2005 Yamaha TT-R has a 250cc air-cooled engine and a 6-speed. Seriously, it's the perfect combination for off-road & highway use and makes all the power I could want. The little sucker is fast I tell ya! With this engine I could see one of these chinabikes being just as good as the TT-R. Someone needs to buy one of these and try it out. Hey, it won't fit in my bike! SamM

Hey pumpkin,
You don't have to find it now! You just have to buy it! Actually, this may not be the best choice, as I said I think it only has a 4-speed tranny. SamM
