I see now clearly what Seat Concepts is doing.
Their narrow saddle replicates the tongue extension of the stock seat to fill that gap in the tank.
The tall seat has it eliminated so they could raise the nose higher and keep it flat and wide all the way to the rear.
So the area on the narrow saddle that starts steeply sloping upwards basically occupies real estate left flat on the tall version. Can't have it both ways.
Tonight's four hour ride in the pitch black of southern Ohio will be my first real ride on mine. The ride to work this morning only had me sitting there in amazement at the difference from stock. Now I forget about it and concentrate on deer (and the meteor shower)
