Doh!

Hi Spud, I´m sorry i didn´t notice you started a thread with the same topic...
Please feel free to merge it..

I checked the bulb before installing it, in low beam only two out of three leds light up, in high beam all three light up, is this the way is supposed to be?

No problema, Lucien. Yes, the top two LEDs are lit for low beam, and all three LEDs are lit for high beam.

This afternoon I installed my MotoLED M3 headlight bulb.

In preparation for the installation, I removed the bullet connectors, and soldered spade connectors to the headlight wires. I removed the LED driver from the end of the fan, and I placed a piece of plastic over the end of the fan to keep the fan blades from snagging any wires behind the headlight. I also secured the wires leading from the driver and the bulb with zip ties to prevent them from being damaged if they were pulled. Next, I secured the LED driver to a convenient wire holder attached to the headlight shroud of my CRF250X.

After test fitting the headlight shroud, I discovered the bulb fan was still hitting the steering stem of the frame. Therefore, I removed the bulb from the headlight shroud, and unscrewed the plastic from the bottom of the fan. I trimmed the bottom of the fan with my trusty, Harbor Freight angle grinder. I also trimmed the plastic which covers the end of the fan, and screwed it back onto the fan. I then re-installed the LED bulb assembly into the fan shroud, and test fitted the assembly once again.

This time I had good clearance with the steering stem. Wishing to test the headlight, I went riding the pavement for 40 miles to the trail head of some technical dual track. Along the way I noticed the oncoming motorists were giving me a nice, wide berth as we passed each other.

The LED bulb and headlight assembly easily survived the tough trail without any damage. Just before I arrived home, I stopped to take daytime photographs of the headlight output. Here is a photo of the headlight on low beam.

Here is a photograph of the headlight on high beam.

This headlight is very bright. In fact, even during daylight I prefer to wear sunglasses while looking into the headlight.

After sunset I went for short ride of about six miles. This headlight casts a pleasant white light with superb illumination of the sides of the road, as well as the road ahead.

The output from the stock, incandescent headlight bulb is pitiful. I replaced the stock bulb with a Tusk Super White Bulb, which was greatly superior to the stock bulb.

The MotoLED M3 bulb is vastly superior to the Tusk Super White Bulb. I am very pleased with this LED bulb. It has lived up to my high expectations, and I can confidently recommend it to others who are seeking superior lighting.

I'm really impressed with the headlight that I installed on Lifanda, and I've made no changes to it. The light not only lights up the road well on low beam, but it also lights up the ditches to the sides. I'd be amazed to see an LED headlight do even better.

I think I'll give it a try.

Thank you, gentlemen. The important factor to consider is whether or not you have enough space behind the headlight assembly for the LED bulb to fit. All the measurements for the bulb are included in this post. If the LED bulb will fit, you won't be sorry you got it.

If you are placing an order with Taobao, include one or two of these LED bulbs in your purchase. If you aren't placing an order with Taobao, you can order these bulbs on eBay for $19, but you will need to wait for them to arrive from China. If you are willing to spend $24-$26, you can buy these bulbs on eBay with delivery from the United States.

Make sure you get the genuine bulb; beware of the copycats. The LED bulb I bought is a genuine, Nao M3 bulb. The genuine bulb will have the following information inscribed on the base.

MOTOLED
ZL-201320651208.3

The authentic bulb will also have the following sticker on the base of the LED driver.

These LED headlight bulbs are waterproof, as proven in the following video.

As long as the extended length of this LED bulb will fit into your headlight shroud, you can't go wrong by purchasing one of these bulbs. These LED bulbs have a service life of 30,000 hours. Whether you purchase this bulb from Taobao for $13, plus shipping, or from eBay for $19, delivered, it represents an exceptional value.

The brilliant light from this bulb makes you more visible, and safer, in both daylight and darkness. The amazing, extended life of the bulb also allows it to pay for itself rather quickly. I was paying $10/bulb for the incandescent, Tusk Super White bulbs, and was happy to do so, since I could at least ride somewhat safely at night. These bulbs offer far greater illumination, and safety, and will probably outlast most motorcycles, yet they only cost twice as much as the Tusk Super White bulb. After riding about 10,000 miles on my CRF250X, I am currently using my third or fourth, Tusk Super White bulb.
