Need a 108 main jet
I have searched everywhere up here for a 108 main jet but can't find one. If a dealer or a chinarider has an extra 108 please PM me or leave a note. I have an extra 112 if you want to trade. I'm guessing 108 is an odd size? :(

There is no 108 main jet, the sizes are: 105, 107, 110, 112, 115 etc.

I'm using a 110, because my 106 was leaving my plug white. The 110 is running a little rich. Better rich than lean, correct? So I started moving the needle back to the stock position. Then past stock, now the clip is 1 spot from the top. Runs pretty good at WOT, but I loose out on the cold starting. 1 from the top is not the best spot for the clip when starting my bike cold. Of course, I could get a bigger pilot jet, leave the 110 and the clip position. The other fix I thought of was reaming out a 107, then dropping the clip back to the bottom spot for starting. 110 is a little too big, and a 106 is way too small. I think... for me... on my bike... but like I said I'm so new I could be way, way off. :? |

I think there's been some rounding up and down of sizes, I've found another
list which gives the sizes as 107.5, 112.5 etc. Jonathan. |

Good link az. I think our jets are 8mm, though the list has 3 different 8mm main jets.
czowner, from what I've read you are correct. I believe that Ms Randi picked up some of those .5 sizes. The way I figure it, if you have poked holes in your pipe, and added a pod or cone filter, you should probably rejet bigger. Most chinariders have 200cc bikes and mine is only a 150cc. When re-jetting most people pickup a seletion of jets because they are cheap. I really thought that I could find a stock jet that someone doesn't need. Since I can't make purchaces off the web, I am willing to pay 25$ U.S cash for a 2$ jet. I understand that it's an odd size, but, if you have a 108 that fits our bikes, (107.5 is fine if 108 can't be found) 25$ certified cheque is yours, and I'll gladly pay shipping too. Edit: Or if there is a china dealer reading 8O |

I found a way around having to get a jet smaller than 110. Ambassador didn't give me the fix, I came up with it while talking to him on the phone. The problem was that after doing the muffler and air filter mods, I was running too lean. I should have just reamed the stock 106 jet. But I traded the 106 for the 110. :( . Mental note "listen to Red2003."
The 110 made the bike too rich at WOT, and unless I set the clip to the top of the needle, the bike started to chug at highway speed. So this is where the clip stayed; it made cold starts a hastle and it made my bike sound like a pop can at idle. :( This morning I reamed out the pilot jet, kept the clip at the top of the needle, air fuel mix screw 1/2 turn out. I doubt I did it right and won't recommend my method. The results, well I'm very happy. I don't backfire when rolling off throttle quickly, but there is a bit of gurgling. I'm still running a little rich, but only a little, and it's equally rich at idle and WOT. It doesn't stumble on the highway anymore and if anything I think it may have a little more power at the bottom end. Kato, thanks again for the solenoid. My bike starts crisp every time, and since I did the pilot jet I haven't even touched the choke. Ambassador, Thanks for your call. Talking to someone focuses my thinking. I have never gone riding with anyone. The only bike I've ever ridden is this one, and I've only had a bike or a licence for about 3 1/2 months. The time talking to someone, who not only knows bikes, but knows my bike is just gold. I'll do the lock washers today, and high temp sealent if the problem comes back. I'm doing the greasing on the next rain day. Sometimes I wonder how far my bike would take me if I just started heading west. I think about my trip to Sarnia all the time. |
