I just got back from a 3-day ride to Utah, so I'm joining this thread late. If you have time, please post photos of your Hobbit!

Apparently the photobucket is not compatible with iPhone for posting pics as I've tried off and on for days now.

Or I'm just totally missing something...?

I'll get to a computer this weekend..

I guess it worked..!

Note the custom handlebar mirror made from an Easton arrow shaft and plastic flexible mirror from a bicycle.

Plastic triangle SMV sign attached to the baskets.....figured with riding on the hilly country roads it may increase my chance of Not getting ran in to.

My XL lunch box fits perfectly on top of the baskets, which are usually full of my tool belt, boots, misc...all secured with bungee straps. Top speed so far on flat ground with all that + my 200 lbs = 27 mph
Uphill = 17 mph
Downhill = pegged at 30 mph (guessing 37 mph)

Ill take some more pics now that I know how to post, for later....

I still vote for a 125cc pit bike motor.

It looks like it's in really good shape, and it's cool that you're able to use a free vehicle to get to work. Does it have a kicker as well, or only pedal start?

Theres a funny joke about fat women and mopeds I will not share here.....

I like it! Mopeds are great fun and teach you a lot about energy management on hills and carrying speed through turns. 100+ MPG does not hurt either. 8)
