I have very little iPhone experience; please tell me what the numerical references are. Also, is that an abandoned golf course?

Most likely the golf course was part of a new development that went under. Pretty common in the North Georgia area. Lots of "stalled development".

the numbers are mile markers

And yes it was a new development that went under its about 300 acres with gravel and paved roads through most of it... They had 4 holes of the golf course down and the rest was just grass and gradded property
