I'm A Ex Chinarider Now

It's been fun but I sold my 07 Lifan GY and got a street bike (gs500). I have no complaints about my old Lifan. It was a great bike. I put over 8K miles on it an only ever replaced the chain and tires. It never lost a single bolt. It was very dependable and never let me sit. In some ways I still like it better than the new Suzuki. I like the upright seating position better even though the seat sucked. And as sad as it may sound the suspension on the Lifan was better than my 06 Suzuki (very soft and bottoms out in the front but I'm going to upgrade the springs). The gearbox on the Lifan shifts almost the same as the Suzuki. There is also a lot more wind on the Suzuki even with the faring and wind screen. It seems to focus all the air right at my head. The wind also pushes the it around a lot more than the Lifan. Takes more muscle to keep it straight. It also noisy/chattering engine.

I would have loved to keep the Lifan but I really did not have the room in my garage and my wife would not have been happy with me having 2 bikes anyway.

From what I understand the chinabikes are going up in price and I'm not sure what the story is on American Lifan these days but I would not hesitate to do it over again. For the money (at least a few years ago) you could not go wrong.

I'll prob still lurk every no and then. Thanks to all the long-timers here that helped me answer questions over the years.

A long time ago Ironfist (is he still here?) was kind enough to send me a 15t front sprocket for my 07 Lifan. I never used it, so does anyone here want/need it? I'd be happy to pass it on.

Just because you went Jap doesn't mean we don't have a place for you. Check out the other stuff forum. You will need to fill us in the the GS.

Oh man, I hear that!

Please show us pics of the GS; anything that burns fuel on two wheels seems to interest us.

Thanks for the good review of your Lifan motorcycle, and congratulations on acquiring your 500GS. Once a China Rider, always a China Rider! Please do post a review of your Suzuki GS500 in our Other Stuff Forum! You will find that forum is very active with a good number of interesting threads being posted all the time.

Nice to know the china bike compares so well to a Suzuki (if I had japanese it would be Suzuki - love them).

China bikes are going up in price partly due to EPA standards and partly more rigid safety/ inspection/ import fees. We've had that for a while in Canada but I hear it's hitting the USA too.

I JUST GOT MY MOTORCYCLE LEARNERS on Friday and I am SO stoked to get my full license! Looking forward to riding this:
http://www.pitsterpro.ca/en/products...supermoto.html

Which arrives in the next few weeks in canada. Comes from a Suzuki factory and has the suzuki engine. Will be sweet.

The PP XTR 200X appears to be a Qingqi/Qlink XF200. Indeed, that's a nice motorcycle.

Yep, definitely the XF200 twin, search around. Lots of good info on those bikes. Mine has done very well, but I've had mine less than a year.

A fine motorcycle.

I've owned two, and have had 3 friends with one each and have nothing but good to say about that little bike.
