I hope so too. I found a new OEM honda on ebay. $15 shipped. Already got the ship notice so hopefully Tuesday or so. I am going to see if the old one will free up for a spare again.

Just reading this. Maybe after my cleaning of the clutch I will get some more speed. I have never been able to get what people claim. Looking for low 60s.

Neat thread about that other fellow's Elite... I love his bedliner paint job! I saw a few guys on scooters in Banff while my son and I were trudging around town, I was envying them in a big way!

Is there an oil leak that is contaminating the belt?

Its my fault again. I packed too much grease in the variator and it spewed all over the belt. Glad I decided to run the old belt longer with the cracks.

I had saved the original belt and put it back on after cleaning all the grease out. Worked fine. Lost alittle speed since it is worn, but no more slipping.

The clutch works great too. I have way better takeoff and then at about 25 mph it feels like it hits second gear.

This all took 30 minutes too. I am getting good at taking this thing apart. :roll:

I have a new Bando belt in the shed, but wanted to be sure the grease was fixed first.

I will install it next week.

From what you're saying, it sounds like the new belt will provide a little more speed. Have you received your new exhaust yet?

My exhaust came in last week. It is much nicer than the one on the scoot so I will keep that one as the stocker and cut up my original.

The one I have has alot of rust and and I believe the internals are pretty much shot. I hear rattling inside it.

I plan to cut it open and maybe just gut it out.

The michelin maybe has 2-300 miles left and I will need to remove the exhaust then. Going to put the new muffler on then and take the old one to the operating table.

Will also install new belt at the same time.

Otherwise the scooter is running great. 5 days with no issues.

Glad to hear it's running well. Have you considered welding a pipe on that would accept a pit bike muffler?

That is my other option since I have that nice shiny one you sent me.

They're loud, but effective. If the backpressure is excessive (as it was on TurboT's 200cc Beast), it will come apart at the rivets. You could do the math and confirm that the area of the holes in the plate add up to more than the area of the pipe out of the head. If they add up to less, just drill 'em out accordingly. Remember, it was designed for a 125, so it might be a tad on the small side.

The outlet on the head is about 1". I think that the pit bike muffler might be just right. My concern is it being too loud for a daily driver.

That's the beauty of a welder. If you don't like the muffler, chop it off and weld something else on.

Today was a good day to change the tire. Michelin S1 after 3K miles.


New Shinko Golden Boy. I hope I am golden with this one.


Recorded the start mileage for the new tire here in my records.


I also installed two new exhaust gaskets stacked on top of each other. Was going to use the new muffler, but discovered a small hole where the clamp had been tacked to the pipe at the factory. The weld broke and left alittle hole. Will have to repair that first.

Old exhaust back on for now.

With the exhaust sealed up it pulls better.
