increase power on Lifan LF200gy-6

I was wondering if there was a way to make some adjustments to increase the power. I find there is not enough power to bring the front tire up. There seems to be plenty of power while riding but if I am in first gear and crack the throttle to try to pop it up it just revs up and I have to shift to quickly. The wheel does not leave the ground. Maybe I am expecting too much after owning an RM125 in my younger days. I also have a 1982 cb650sc Nighthawk in great shape if anyone is interested. Asking $2500

Sure, you can unleash some power with a better pipe and air filter. You can also play with the sprocket ratios; what gearing is on the bike now?

Thanks I was thinking better sprockets. I am not sure what the gearing is now. I am going to get a new Air filter and Oil filter as soon as possible. I just got the bike last week. I have not had a chance to tinker much yet. What Sprockets and pipe do you recommend?

Spud has had good luck with a universal FMF muffler that he paid around $105 for, and it is approved for forestry use. Take a look at his modification list in the dual sport section, and you'll easily find the muffler part number.

I can't make a sprocket recommendation until I know what sizes you currently have.

The pipe/filter/jet and then sprockets are about the best mods to make in the power/delivery department.

As for oil filter I believe the GY6 uses the cleanable screen. No filter to buy.

Sprocket and chain

Wow its been a while but I was wondering what compatible Honda or Yamaha sprocket will work on my 2007 Lifan 200 gy-6. The current rear sprocket has 46 teeth and the chain has 65 links + master link so 66. There are no dealers here that sell lifan parts. Need a sugestion please

You will want to review this thread. It should relate to your lifan.

I agree with the others. The best ways to increase power are to install an aftermarket silencer, and change sprocket ratios. However, these 200cc chinabikes don't like to lift the front wheel, even after they are modified.

That is actually 132 links in the chain. You would need a smaller front sprocket or a 50 tooth or larger rear sprocket to accomplish what your looking to do...

I happen to carry a 50t rear sprocket and smaller front sprockets in stock... I would have to check on a price for shipping to Canada.

So you also carry Chain adjusters. The right side chain adjuster bolt was rusted badly and I ended up breaking it off trying to losen it. or could anybody tell me if there is an equivelent Honda or yamaha part I could use. I think I need to replace the whole thing as I have not had any luck getting the busted bolt out of the adjuster.
