I understand the 1, 67, F, M but the letters after it.
Is there a list for the L and other letters like H & I posted somewhere?

heres the pics with it all back together im missing one piece of plastic on the back.. runs good no smoke what so ever,,starts within the first 2 kicks or just use the starter lol..and to think i got it going with 25 bucks..and the bike was just given to me..im surely not complaining ..the clutch plates were stickin at first ..when i pulled in the clutch and shifted to 1st it took off lol..but to fix that ,,i just upped the throttle and without clutch, kicked it into 1st...that did the trick.,but over all its a smooth running bike..im 5/8 and im on tippy toes to ride it..lol guess we'll see how she holds up over time thx everyone

You've done really well! That's a rare model with aluminum rims, cradle frame and a counter-balanced engine. Do you intend to ride it on the street?

These UM's were very highly regarded and the dealers used to lie through their teeth about them to convince people to buy them. United Motors were also selling rebranded Hyosung bikes at the time, so dealers claimed they were also made in Korea

The reason they were rare is UM had an MSRP of something like $3k. We had a UM dealer in town, and I looked at the manufacturer's plate and of course it said 'Jiangsu Sacin Motorcycle Co' while the dealer was telling me it was made in Korea. Sitting on it, it felt much tighter by feel than my same era Jetmoto 200 enduro I owned at the time, but the Jetmoto was only $1k shipped to my house. The idea behind UM was that people would finance a $3k bike, just like Honda is selling the Grom for entry level riders for $3k+

Before I bought my newer TMEC there was one of these for sale in Phoenix being sold by a guy who flies jetfighters at Luke Air Force Base. He was moving out of Arizona and did not want to take his bike with him. I was hoping to get to see his plane up close, but either way, I could not make it out there to see it.

no not planing on riding it on the road..just for fun i guess. and yea the rims on it are sumthin else,,maybe 2 toned? from chrome , tilt ur head,,and its a bronze color. and your correct on the exhaust also weldangrid.. but just looking at the bike it looks realy good made..sturdy..this engine isnt like others ive heard this one is very quiet. let a buddy of mine take it for a spin and when he was coming back, i could barley hear it around 100 foot or so..everything feels so uncheap ,,things work realy smooth on it. from what i can tell its only been rode close to 800 miles from the odom that still works. but all in all i was thinking this would be just a cheap ride around the property,,but im actualy liking it ..and about it being rare,,,i believe it too..ive only found maybe 2 pictures of this bike online of the same model. and noone from honda or suzuki wanted to get involved with it. also made the statement this bike was nothing like a honda or suzuki..thats the reason i went with weldangrind idea about boiling the piston to get the old rings off,,i also used a wooden hammer handle to smack the sides of the piston to hopfuly losen the rings and it works. my new moto is,,heat it n beat it haha..but i hope this thread stays alive,,for folks like me,,running across one in great conditon and not know anything bout em... cheers to everyone and a to u all

Yes, my saying the dealers lied through their teeth did not mean the bikes were not well made--they were (and probably still are, the ones still running) among the top Chinese bikes--only they were expensive! That is why they are rare.

I had asked on Skyteam's facebook page if they were going to expand their presence in the US with this bike (beyond their popular CT70 replicas, RV90 replicas, and PBR50 replicas) and whoever maintains their Facebook page (it is international) stated they were--including bringing these back, but that was a while ago, but I am still holding out hope since it takes a while to get bikes certified. I just hope they don't try to price them like SSR priced the Qingqi bikes...

great info culcune that explains why this one rides so good..lil over 700 miles on it goin by the odom..still works btw..i been riding it at least once a day and i cant complain at all. if i do it would be on the narrow rear tire..could use a lil more traction on the few hills and in woods with alot of leaves. this think is a lil big for me as im 5/8 and the bikes stands around 3 and a half foot. very tall for me..but no complaints
