please help questions on carbs

hi everyone im new here,,hope im in the right place..little history first i guess..a 2007 united motors 200cc dual sport bike was just given to me...it was locked up but i useized it,and thigs seem fine,,moves freely and the piston and rings look good..had a bunch of water in it, and so did the carb. theres no way to clean these carbs so i was needing to know..does anyone know what size carb goes on this bike? says on the old carb ( PD1 and another number below that 06k11..:) i cant find any like that but i did find a (PD1) online.. but didnt know if the bolt up would be the same or not..ive read some other forums that any 30mm carb would work..can sumone help me on this...? im just more concernd about it bolting up and being the right size for this bike..thanks in advance ..

Can you post a pic if the carb?

culcune 11-27-2014 01:35 PM

Find a PZ30 carb or a MIkuni carb--Weldandgrind knows which specific model(s) work best. I think they are clone carbs found on ebay, but work really well...

At least consider disassembling the carb and trying some different strategies such as boiling or fluid vibration.

The cheapest way is time, clean it first and if that doesn't work, buy a new or used one.
I've cleaned some pretty dirty ones but yours looks bad.
What does the bowl look like inside where the float & jets are?

Weldangrind 11-27-2014 08:57 PM

That carb is ready for the recycling pile. A new Mikuni is not only cheap, it's easily tuned, since jets are commonly available for it. Here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/30MM-MIKUNI-...b18e74&vxp=mtr

It's easy for me to respond to you, because Thanksgiving was a month ago in Canada. :D

its pretty bad lol looks like grim in the pics but its the carb with holes ate into it,,u can see the pits all in it .and as for the inside the float bowl,,looks just as bad,,but i did go ahead and purchase one off ebay today..kinda figured out it was a 30mm carb. should be here by the 2nd of dec. when i messure the bore of the intake on the carb i do measure the inside hole right? lol first time messing with the millimeters lol and once again thanks for all the help ill post as soon as it arrives :) heres the link to where i bought it if anyone would like to chime in with there opinion http://www.ebay.com/itm/380827483766...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The carb you bought will probably work fine, but as HB says, finding jets might be a nuisance. That's why I choose the Mikuni.

BLACK DEATH 11-28-2014 11:15 AM

My bad that carb is bad, harder to see the small pic on the phone.
Mikuni carb all the way as jets are very easy to get or find.
Jets are us has jets also for a lot of carbs incase you need some but I don't know if they have jets for all carbs.

akguy31 11-28-2014 01:56 PM

well im at least glad to hear that the one i got should work :) but in the future ill go with the mikuni. the guy i bought it from has it in the mail already,,hows that for ebay service lol soon as it gets here ill keep u guys informed ...once again thank u all for the replys :)
