What VM22 jet kit do you guys use?
I have a Vader 125cc with a knock off Mikuni VM22 and was wondering what jets you guys use? The one I bought already has a 95 in it.

You'd probably be better off trying the #95 main before anything else, it might be fine for your elevation.

I have the vm22 on my Hellcat 125... using the stock intake and airbox.
I'm running the stock pilot. Not sure on how many turns on the A/F screw. My needle on the throttle has a small washer underneath it. I actually had to lower my needle (raise clip) to lean out the mid-range... it was bogging and stalling bad. I drilled out my main to ~#98-ish... but it is still not enough. I can't fully rev it out. Going to try #100 next. I'm at 2200ft elevation. Cheers!

It depends on throttle position on what you want to adjust. Idle to part throttle is going to be the idle mixture screw/pilot jet, mid range is your needle, full throttle is your main jet. Their is overlap though. Too rich it will surge and pop, too lean it will bog.

Finished tuning my HC this past weekend.
Stock exhaust Stock intake and spacer (spacer tapered a tad to smooth airflow out of larger diameter carb into smaller diameter spacer) Airbox removed... running cheap pod filter VM22 carb #100 main jet stock pilot jet A/F screw at 1 turn out Throttle needle lowered - raised c-clip to top notch - still has stock washer under the needle clip 2200ft elevation runs great... full rpm... max 55mph indicated with my #210butt on it. Starts quick... great throttle response. I'm calling this one tuned. Good luck dialing in your carbs!

My vm22 is a knock-off... the $30 one on fleabay. Works better than the stock PZ-25 it came with. I like the enricher on the carb much better than the PZ-25 choke plate. It makes a perfect starting high idle. And using the stock intake points the carb rearward putting the enricher lever on the easy to reach left side. Cheers!

my Hellcat has the following mods:
- VM22 knockoff kit from eBay - Aluminum intake that was included with carb (larger diameter than stock) - enlarged opening in paper carb gasket so it is no longer a restriction - drilled out welding inside header pipe so it wasn't such a large obstruction (used a step drill) - oiled foam filer (not the K&N-style pleated cotton one included with the carb) - no airbox, carb pointed forward With that setup, it kept running lean even with a #125 jet! It was surging and the plug tip was whitish. Since I only had jets up to #125 and I didn't want to wait for the new ones to get here, I took the stock jet and drilled it out until it was slightly bigger than the #125. I actually put the jet in my drill chuck and the tiny drill bit in a vise. I'm not sure exactly how big the hole was when I was done, since the bit was a 1mm I think. The drill bit had a little more wiggle room in this jet than in the #125. After that it ran pretty good, so I left it in. My bigger jets came in the mail, but I haven't had time to try them yet I left the needle and pilot jet alone. I think I set the pilot screw at 1.5 turns out |

I'm running a 110 now. Initially I tuned the carb when it was ~ 100 degrees every day. Last night I rode it in 75 degree weather and the bike was not happy. Test rode it today at 75 degree temps with the bigger jet and it's running good now. I will see how it reacts once it warms up today. Would be nice to get a jet in there that covers a broad range of temp difference just adjusting the needle.
