Deceptive Business Practices ?

Found this reading the usage policies on another website (freewebs), thought it might be useful to some people here.

shouldnt this be a sticky in dealer, discussions :?:

For whatever it's worth, I contacted the FTC about a company last year, and they seemed to be dealt with fairly quickly.

My complaint was about promotional emails. I "opted out" month after month, each time thinking "no more of that", only to get a new email the following month. I contacted the company (which required I provide an email address and create an account) several times and finally just gave up on them ever helping.

I contacted the FTC and the emails stopped for 2 months, then started up again...at which point I contected the FTC once more, providing all of the case numbers and information from the previous experience, and I haven't seen an email from that company since. Finally! :)

Granted, my situation wasn't the same as what some may potentially need the FTC's help with here, but they DO take action based on the information you submit via their online form. I was never contacted directly. All I wanted was for the emails to stop. Mission accomplished!

I chose this section since it is for dealers and distributers. As you know Almon and I over on www.china-moto.com and I recently became dealers for not only parts but motorcycles. In addition to being an authorized V-Bike dealer we also searched new suppliers in order to be able to market motorcycles at a cheaper price and provide better service to buyers. We were contacted by a importer by the name of Travis Oberg dba Yoshida Motorsports and a year of talking to him we finally made a couple of purchases from him. After not receiving our products we became suspicious and made deeper inquiries. The full story is below please view it.

I posted in this section since he does not go after individual purchasers but dealers. If you have been contacted by this guy...do not believe ANYTHING he says. He is very smooth and convincing. BEWARE.

Read the story here. We are finding more and more buyers each day that have been or are in the process of being de-frauded out of their money by this thief.

Thanks and beware,

i got a very bad experience with excalibur motorsports.

beware of doing business with this company. good and friendly when taking your money but no response when something goes wrong.

see my thread here.

PM me if you have any questions i will be glad to explain in detail what happened to me. hopefully no one else has to go through this kind of unnecessary loss.

If you are a company do not advertise a warranty when in reality there is no warranty or gaurante that you will get a safe working bike.

thats what their marketing should say "send us your money we may send you a working bike, but , maybe not and if not you deal with it and we still keep all of your money"!

again buyer beware.

Is he the same manny who is on this site on a regular basis going by the screen name manny? Or are there more that one manny on the site?

culcune 04-25-2017 07:53 AM

There is a random member 'manny' who ended up buying a Honda instead of an Enforcer. The 'real' Manny did join here as Txpowersports at one point (I believe that is the member's name?).

TX Powersports

I bought my Hawk 250 through TX Powersports. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, is a Manny dealership. When I first got my Hawk, right out of the box, it had a few, little problems. They fixed two of the four problems. Ok, I'll fix the other two problems. With only 31 miles on the odometer, and under the 90 day warranty, the rear hub failed and destroyed the rear wheel and swing arm! TX Powersports said they will not cover it! If you watch MotoCheez on YouTube, he talks about the same problem and how Q9 Powersports took care of their customer!

When I buy my next bike, it will be through Q9 Power-sports!

Be safe out there!

Help...

to the best of my knowledge i purchased a RPS Hawk 250 5 speed. it was delivered.. a few issues. the crate was kinda broke up and it had low really filthy oil.Anyway with thee corona thing i couldnt get it on the road.. it maxes out at like 50 t0 55 and the dealer is telling me its a 4 speed.it is also said to be sold in an as is condition. all of this worries me. Any Thoughts or suggestions?

JerryHawk250 05-05-2020 01:38 PM

Sounds like they don't know what they sold you. The Hawk is a 5 speed. Your top speed is about right for a new bike. Once broke in and tuned it will run much better.

This thread is about scumbag dealerships and issues with them ,the post you quoted was of places to avoid ,I think you posted this in the wrong spot as I have yet to hear of a single issue not taken care of by venom .If I am wrong carry on .

Yes that's definitely posted in the wrong thread. Lol Venom is one of the best dealers to deal with.

TxTaoRider 04-16-2021 09:15 AM

Ok, as someone that actually picked up my bike from Txpowersports, I can say that the crates (boxes) aren't in very good shape when they load them on your trailer. My box was in pretty bad shape when they loaded on my trailer with a forklift. I can only imagine what contrition they arrive in after riding across the country on a freight truck.
I will say that in person, Manny seems ok and they took care of me very well. He provided all the paperwork, gave me a temporary plate, and filed all my paperwork with the state in the 20 minutes or so that I was there.

Now I've ordered some misc parts from them and the parts take awhile to arrive as they drop ship them and it can be hard to get fast accurate shipping information. Csc and Peace are awesome in this regard, but they dont carry some tao specific parts (like my headlight assembly).

Ok just my view on how at least one of these places works. Not bad, not great, just what I expected for a 1400.00 bike. I'd buy from him again, but then again, I'd pick it up myself.

They sent me a bike that clearly fell off a truck. . .

I hope you paid with a card, so you can dispute the charges.

buzz 06-21-2021 07:11 AM

I think if you sell these bikes you should have parts to go with these bike. Was told on back order ,and dont know when they are avalible. Not the dealership i was hoping for, have to order parts from difference dealer. Sad come on Manny get your ---- together or get out, hopefully out. Keep this great site going ,and thanks for all your help and support. Many Thanks to all on this site, and enjoy your china bike. Safe riding to all!
