deep water fording
how deep can I ford through a river? I know that the air intake sits right bellow the seat, and Ive seen people do it on other dirtbike/dual sports, but I also noticed some electrical components on the engine.
the bike has rear disc brakes and the river isnt too deep, depending on the weather it could be around 1-2 feet deep. |

Big thing is the air intake, but you might what to put some dialectic grease on the electrical connections down low.
I have been in water to just above the pegs at slow speeds. I am not sure I would go much deeper. Espicially if it is moving water. Allen

I think 18" is pretty safe then. You really don't want to dump it in the water. A few inches of moving water will knock right over.
I was crossing streams that people went though with passenger cars so I felt pretty confident to lifan would make it. The ones farther in got deeper. Allen

I've had my Lifan in up to the handlebars.
But it was upside down at the time! Not really. If you can, wade it first on the same path you plan to ride through. That way you don't dump your bike in an unexpected hole or on a big slimy rock. If it's too fast and/or deep to make it on foot, don't even think about trying to ride through. |

I want to put a snorkel on my bike so I can go through deeper water... You know, like when I need to wash the mud off.

I have seen snorkels on ATVs.
I am alittle concerned about the electrics and deep water. Allen

water riding
a good idea for a snorkel is if u have an air box with a small snorkel on the top of it, then cut that of and buy some kind of flexible hosing to fit the opening. then just get some rtv silicone and stick it in place...

Auto parts stores will have it. Look in the electrical connectors area.
Tends to last a long time. Allen
