Hello from Minnesota

Hi to everyone! First I would like to thank all the contributors to this site for doing a nice job. I have found the information very informative and helpful in making a decision to buy a bike I had never heard of until a few weeks ago--a Lifan 200GY5. I would most likely have overlooked the bike if I didn't have the information on this site. My bike arrived in a crate a little over a week ago and was fairly easy to set up, thanks to you guys. I must say that I am pleased with the level of quality, and the bike runs and rides great! I only have had time to put about 30 miles on so far, though. But I expect that number to be changing soon.

Welcome on board, Gyjoe!

Glad to know that we were able to help you out with the bike. I just wish we had the internet back in 1974 when I bought my first bike. Sure would have saved some money and heartache, not to mention time spent on trial and error methods during repairs.
If I can help you with your Lifan, since I am also a dealer, just ask and I will be glad to help as I am sure that the rest of these guys will.

Ride safe and as always, rubber side down!

Tom

Wow! Another rider from the way up north.
Welcome! What kind of winters do you have up there in that part of MN?
(Dumb question, right? )
Make sure you go through the DS prep thread if you haven't yet.
I don't think it can be stressed enough. Loc-tite!

Thank you for the warm welcome. It's good to know there are people to ask if you have a question. As you can imagine, the riding season is shorter here than it is further south, but I hope to break the bike in over the next month or two before putting it away for the winter and switching to a snowmobile. The only problem with a snowmobile is that it is more of a wintertime version of a dirt bike (off-road only) and no one has really figured out how to make a good dual purpose machine for the snow!

Hello, Simon from Yuma, AZ. What is this device you call a snowmobile? In fact, what is snow?
