Finally Got Some Snow

It looks like the frozen tundra but it's the Sauer Family Prairie Kame Forest Preserve, just a few miles SW of Cheesy Manor. Flat as a pancake except for that bump/kame in the background.

Rode about 50 miles and a good chunk of that was on unplowed roads. I did get sideways in one corner, which caused a death grip clench on the saddle. I was suddenly facing at a right angle to the direction of travel. The clench came just as the slide stopped and I thought the bike was going to keep moving, up and over the sidecar. I don't think I was doing 15 mph when it happened. Stopped as soon as it started. It took a couple seconds for my butt to release its grip on the saddle, then we went on our merry way.

I ran into a couple of small snow squalls along the way but made it home intact. I have leg guards on the rig but the front of my pant legs were still soaked and covered with road gunk when I got home.

We have snow coming down now. It should let up late tonight. TSHF Monday night into Tuesday night with snow and 30 mph winds. Should be fun.

Not usually, but I was proactive and changed when I got home.

Looks like fun cheesy!!!! I used to love riding (no sidecar) to work in the snow. Nothing like cruising down the slippery freeway, sometimes a bit sideways, and watching someone in a car lose it and slide into the ditch. Then park in the lot and walk into work carrying my helmet listening to other guys comment on my mental state/intelligence level. Actually in retrospect and from the vantage of my much more advanced years I sometimes wonder about my then intelligence level too.

Got some here yesterday. No....I'm not riding in it. The wood stove seems a better place to be.

Is that blue stuff on the horizon...sky?

Going on 3 weeks without it here. We got teased a couple times last week, but the weather chick lied. It's taken on the name of 'Perma-cloud'.

It's one of the benefits of living in an ocean state. The weather blows in, sticks around a day or few, then moves out across Nevada. If you're in the valley, you get fog though. That can stick around quite a while.

We're looking at 4 to 6 starting tonight, which translates to nothing to 12". Western Illannoy looks like it's going to get the worst of it.

So, I think I will climb into the garage attic this morning and bring down our snowshoes.

Isn't that the truth!? Screw the Weather Chick or Dude on TV, now with cell phone aps, it's all over the place! I have the normal Weather Channel ap on my Iphone. It ALWAYS lies to me. Mrs. 2LZ has Weatherbug, Weather Underground, Weather What-the-F--k-Ever, etc.... on her phone and NONE of them ever agree. The convo with my 88 year old mom on the phone always goes like this.....

Ma: "I hear you may get some snow up there."
Me: "Pfffft...... I'll send pics...."
