Last Tuesday afternoon i ordered a $50 (Same model that "rooted" & had Google gadgets already is ~$80 in Aliexpress) black phone w/ 1yr mainland China warranty far away home. That phone is quite OK for older folks's basic needs: chats on IM / surfs web/ enjoys fav tunes/ snaps something around & fingerprint unlock ...
The following shows how taobao works
Wed to Sat (Nothing special just as those shipped via "ground" in US)

At official forwarder: Weighted & Paid

Sat: stays there (No truck to HK in Sat/Sun as usual

) Mon: in HK Tue: got a SMS & collects it in their shop 15 mins later (½ mile from working place & it's my lunch brake)

Found out it had a Samsung display which might hangs after flash w/ Miflash (a official tool for Xiaomi that had tons tutorial in Chinese). Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) is more useful in this case

use QFIL & 1.33 (Chinese seller) firmware from the Russian site above make a clean install. Google gadgets re-appears as any proper phone should BUT some system function in English ONLY no matter u choose whatever language (Luckily it's in something recognizable... )
I will try those "TWRP" tricks (If i'm that lucky it may became a brick

) at spare time.

Installed that Asus ZenFone 4 Max rom via TWRP. Phone is normal finally. Everything in traditional Chinese & the radio worked again finally. Re packed it & ready for Father's Day on next Sunday.
