I moved your thread to the Other Brands Forum so it would get better exposure.
I don't own a KLX250S. However, I do have a Ricochet skid plate mounted on both my Honda XR650L and my Zongshen 200GY-2. The Ricochet skip plates are excellent. http://www.ricochetoffroad.com/store/page147.html

I think that's the brand I have on mine. VERY well made, VERY thick and easy to mount. I have had some serious stuff impact mine over the years and barely scrathed the plate much less hurt the bike.
The only downside is a small increase in mechanical engine noise due to the sound being reflected up at the rider, and a couple of drips when you change the oil. Highly recommeded.

Did you get your tires and battery taken care of? Up and running?

You don't need a pipe guard, if you are referring to the exhaust.
The skid plate protects the water pump if that's what you mean. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...ed=0CFcQ9QEwBA Not my bike but this is the same one I have.

Here it is elsewhere. Great price and I'm pretty sure this is where I got it from about 3-4 years ago. Happy Trails is a top notch supplier. I just trail tested it again a bunch of times this weekend ;-) Good product.

As far as what else to add it depends on your needs.
I tour and take very long rides on mine and needed a rack. Other than that (and a jet kit and FMF Q4 pipe) my bike is stock. Just the hookups for a battery tender and my electric gear. If all works well resist the temptation to upgrade or add too much stuff. Spend your time riding and your money on upkeep and motel rooms and gas while riding.

Hey
This weekend has been crazy with getting caught up with the bike. Doc I want to thank you for that skid plat. Best deal I have seen on the internet. I also had to get my truck inspected. Plus it was 35 out today and I took a little cruise on the trails. What do you all put your PSI at when off-roading. Mine were fully inflated and was it a challenge. But I enjoyed it and hope to get out roading.
