Brs 250 Raven ignition switch lock lever

Please tell me how I can unlock the ignition switch lock lever for a BRS raven 250 without having the hex shape on my key. The hex part of the key was not on the key when my husband bought the bike. So what can I do?

Try a pair of needle nose pliers,open them up and turn at same time. Hope this helps.
