Zongshen ATV 110cc--semi auto trans lubrication HELP
I just bought a used 110cc zonghen for my son.
There was no manual, It has a semi-automatic trans. my question is, Is there a seperate lubrication system for the transmission or does the engine lubricate and cool the trans with the same engine oil? just above the shifter on the left side of the motor, is a plug, I unscrewed this and it is dry, is there suppose to be lubricant in this port? What is this plug for? also there are two drain screws on the bottom, the large one appears to be for the main engine oil, then the smaller one I opened and a long spring was attached and only a few drops of oil came out, what is the drain plug for? I can not find any user manuel online for this engine. Can anyone Help me please? |

Engine oil is the tranny oil. Change only with 4 stroke oil or auto oil without detergents/ friction modifiers that damage clutch plates. Look for oil without any writing in the bottom half of the rating "circle" on the label
Hole with spring above shifter ...My guess...without looking... is cam chain tightner...I am sure somebody will confirm or refute this yet.. Oil can be read on dipstick on other side and drained out of big hole in bottom...it should have a large spring and a wire mesh filter... Don't ride with the shipping "FLUID" from factory...It may smell like oil...may look like oil...but doesn't feel (lubricate) like good ol N.A. OIL.

Best bet is to use the 4 stroke oil in your atv that way you know it's going to help your engine last longer for your son. As for your question on the engine oil. On those models it lubes the engine and transmission.
Have fun with the new atv. Eric Hirt Motorsports hirtmotorsports@yahoo.com 717-834-9126 |
