if you have a ROKETA RSX 200E or want one

Man I have had a few problems with my Roketa RSX 200E as some of you know, but my bike has been running very smoothly the last couple of days. I also rode doubles for the first time. I'm 210lb and my wife is 130 and the bike only lost MINIMAL power. The top speed was around 70mph. Also I took my brother out for a spin and he is 180lbs and the bike amazingly got up to 60mph with both of us on it 8O, yes it took a little time to get to that speed but it got there..

Ok, OK now for the surprise I got on my bike and went to a Dr. appointment today and his office is 60 miles away. Most of the ride I ran the bike at 65mph but i noticed that I had half of the thottle left to play with, well I gased it and I swear to god my bike hit 85mph on flat ground. On the ride back from the Dr. I rode 75mph all the back to my house.:o

I diddent think the bike could hit that speed at all. I have made no mods to the bike what so ever. The only thing that I have done was change the OIL at 200 miles and the spark plug. I have been running 93 gas in the bike since day one. Mabey its because my bike is completely broke in now. I have 550miles on the bike. Any way I just thought I would share the good news. I am truly happy with the bike and I would suggest the ROKETA RSX 200E to anyone, looking to learn how to ride a bike, wanting a awesome on and off rode bike for cheap, or someone just wanting something cheap that can get them back and forth to work with outstanding gas mileage.

Now watch since im so happy with the way things are going tomorrow ill get up to go to work start my bike and start to drive it and half way there the bike will fall apart or engine will fall out the side of the bike. 8O

I've hit an indicated 80+ on relatively flat ground. But keep in mind, I think the spedometer is a touch optimistic. From the bicycle spedometer I attached(which I need to double check calibration), I'd say that at 60, its off by about 5mph. If I get a chance this weekend, I'll zip-tie my hand held GPS to the handlebars just to get an idea of where I'm at.

But back to your original point, I as well couldn't be any more happier with the power and torque of the little 200CC engine. For the bike's weight, I think its a perfect match for some fun putting around, commuting and light off roading. My bike has the 163FML-2 OHV pushrod engine. I went from a 750CC('74 Honda CB750) that was a boat anchor that couldn't lift the wheel off the ground unless you REALLY tried. And it only got about 40mpg. Now I ride a 200cc bike that isn't really a boat anchor, can't lift the front wheel unless you really try, and it gets about 70mpg. The only difference is that the Honda would go over 100mph. But after laying a bike down at over 90mph about 12 years ago, I'm not interested in going that fast anymore.

I'm still playing catch-up from being MIA from the internet for 6 months. What engine does the Roketa have? Lifan, Zongshen, OHV, OHC?

The Roketa has the Zongshen OHC. ALL these engines are OHV. Some are pushrod driven, some are OHC.

Dang, from the title of the post I thought you were trying to unload your bike. I was thinking sure I'd love to have another if he wants to get rid of it.

Anyway, I know these bikes can do this and hold that speed. Both of ours have shown an indicated 82mph+ on numerous occasions. This probably translates to about 75-77mph actual top speed with stock sprockets.

You must have the 46 tooth rear, no way you would see 75 - 80 mph with the 56.

Ya I just counted and it is a 46. So that explains why I have shit for take off. Well im happier with the top end speed then with take off power....................................TO anyone thinking about getting a roketa, DO IT! Also if your thinking about a 46 tooth sprocket for top end speed, it does work. Like I said earlier, I can get to 80mph.

I have a 46 tooth and thinking about 42, or less, (someone has a 35 tooth) but I need to count my front sprocket, and test my bike. I only have 150cc's and it's street only. I don't weigh much. I just got insurance tonight, and plates are Saturday morning. Since my bike is smaller than yours I'm kind of concerned about the upper cruising speed. I'd like to be able to sustain 50 to 55mph for an hour or two at a time(90kph). I'm new so there is lots of time for trial and error. I guess when I'm stalling at stop lights and can't get up steep inclines, my sprocket is too small. By the time this bike is old and grey, I'll have it just right.

the bikes you see with a 35 might be a 520 chain. be carefull, i almost starting ordering sprokets after reading what has been working for people and most of the threads i read were people with 520 chains. i can tell you right now with a 42 tooth rear and 17 tooth front this is by far the most i'd ever go. but that being said i still do ride allot off road so more can be had. i'm willing to bet that your 150 has a smaller front sproket than a 17 in the front. if not i think i'd leave it alone.

Thank-you FMY. When I've worked out the bugs on my bike, I'll post pics and my specs. I may be worrying over nothing.
