Pic of the Pinelands in Jersey
For those that know only the Sopranos and "Jersey Shore", there is also the 1.1 million acres, or 1,700 square miles of pinelands...or pine barrens as some say. Beautiful fall day today for an afternoon ride.
Fortunately we did not meet up with the Jersey Devil, folklore maintains that he roams these parts, but common sense tells me it was merely the locals "pineys" jacked up on hard cider which also originated nearby, you may have heard of Lairds Apple Jack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_Barrens_(New_Jersey) |

Great pics.
Most people never know about the Pine Barrens. Interesting place. I've ridden my mountain bike there but never a dirt bike. Given the absense of hills I bet a 200cc Chinabike is perfect for exploration there! Not so much in the sand though...

Thanks for posting the photos, WCR! I've heard of the Pine Barrens, but never seen a photograph of them before. Where's the Zong?

That looks like a decent place to ride. Is the Jersey Devil the impetus for naming the New Jersey Devils?
