Oil plug on Magician 250cc

Hey guys,

So I have 400 miles on my magician. I bought oil and I am ready to change the oil for the first time but I cannot seem to loosen the oil bolt. Im using a ratchet but it will not budge.

Its very possible that im just not using enough strength and that all I need to do is push a little hard and it may loosen but im afraid to hurt myself.

Anyway, is there something that im missing or is it just simply VERY tight?

Both my drain bolt on the bottom and the plug on the side where the filter screen is located were very tight on my Hawk and my X22R. Just makes sure you are turning lefty loosie.

yes my two magicians were very tight on the drain plug. using a long handle/extension lefty way does the job. i did not attempt to re tighten it back with the long handle/extension, i just used a normal ratchet for tightening it back up.

My last question. I know I need 1.6 quarts. One bottle is 1 qt, but whats the most efficient way to measure .6 qt to finish if off?

Oil drain bolt should be tightened to 18 ft lb per Honda CG shop manual.

It will only take a quart.

isn't it 1.16 if you pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug and tap the starter button a couple quick times to turn the motor over while draining the oil? if you don't do those things its 1 quart?

Also, i put more oil than i was suppose to. like 1.3 Is that bad? Or should i drain some out?

On my storm when I put even just a little bit more than it should take, it spit it out in an oil leak until it was at the right level, not sure if that will happen with your bike and you put .3 extra. Best test is just to run with it and see if it spits any oil out. If you want to be safe though just take some oil out with a suction or a turkey baster like tool! Good luck

Ok! It only has 400 miles on it. I wasnt planning on changing it, but thats a relief that i dont have to replace it.

Where is the oil screen filter located on the magician? Like I said I changed the oil, but because I can't figure out where the filter is, Ive been procrastinating.

It's the large hex shaped plug on the lower left side of the engine.
