Help identifying this bike (possibly shineray/lifan?)
Hello,
I am looking to purchase this bike: https://www.masesa.com/mrt-tr200-201...o-multicolor/p It's a 200cc dirt bike, looks nice, and the website description is "MRT TR 200 - CB, 163FML-2,cilindro simple, enfriado por aire, 4 tiempos" - so 4 stroke, air cooled. I went to look at it and the serial starts with a star and then LXYJCML00J0.. which whomademybike.com says its a Shineray. 163FML-2 is the engine which I found is made by Lifan. The shineray site has this bike: http://www.shineray-atv.com/dir_xilie.asp?id=351 which looks like the one above but the fork is different (inverted) and the engine is 125cc. This other one http://www.shineray-atv.com/dir_xilie.asp?id=452 does have the 200cc engine, but the fork is different. It looks like its a xy200GY-5 - with a lifan 200cc engine? Is that right, Shineray is the bike builder and Lifain makes the engines? I've read that lifan is one of the better engines, so this should be a good bike to buy? Thanks! |

Shineray X3 had the same Vin http://item.zhuanzhuan.com/777411194302742532z.shtml & displacment http://www.newmotor.com.cn/photo/tuku/show_544_2.html as that official Tr200 page
--- Loncin 63*62 http://www.loncinindustries.com/moto...780113#proFlag matches 193cc https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?ft=t&id=44283819903 https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=533927051454 Lifan is using mainstream parts that similar to Honda (ie. 63.5mm*62.2mm) https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=534798430958 Anyway call the engine model as whatever in export bike doesn't matters at all since we don't have x-ray vision The general rule http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/showthread.php?642 (QC/T ... the T is just recommended... )

It is a "Pick what you like from catalog" bike
from factory ( they buy parts and screw it together) names "NOONEKNOWS" Its a mixture of stuff yet rather common design mechanicly but some body panels and headlight are fancy looking and not common in China local market - Front brake hub is heavy duty compared to local Chinese bike like CQR etc It is an export mongrel made up from all sorts Buy a few container of bikes and free 10% value in parts and thats how you kinda do this business model. CB200 engine common and unknown quality - numbers can be stamped to how you like so might say Lifan sure but bike is who ever paid the parts and assembly money (Prob not Shineray cause nothing they have or had looks like it) Yet Shineray is a company that just slams bikes together too - lower end of the branded bikes. |

so.. I am looking for a trail bike, I don't plan on doing anything crazy (jumping or hard riding) and it looks a lot like http://www.newmotor.com.cn/photo/tuku/show_544_2.html [X3]XY200GY-5 from above, is shineray a good bike for that?

Hi Hugo, Where are you from?
My suggestion would be to buy the TMR RX1, this is a Songzhen bike, with a 200cc engine, air cooled adventure type bike. If you live in Guatemala, you can look at it at Motoimport, if you are is Colombia maybe look for the AKT brand. |
