Finaly got my Roketa!
It arrive at about 4:30 today and I've just no come inside six hours later. I got a good bit of it assembled, but finding all the right bolts is a pain. I think it was even missing a few, because the bolts it told me to mount the battery with were too small, but lucky for me, the bolts from the metal cage of the packaging were the exact fit! Nothing was damaged in shipping that I can tell, BUT one of the welds in the cage did break and it caused the fork to have dropped down, doesn't seem to be hurt though.
I just filed for my MSO from XXX. I hope I don't have any trouble with registration, the sticker that reads "OFF ROAD USE ONLY" is unnerving for me. Should I wait to get it insured? In GA the law states you have 30 days to get a vehicle registered, as long as it's insured, but I don't know if this applies to my case. I'd like to start driving it now. PS. Pictures coming as soon as my gallery is activated. |

congrats on your bike!.....
My MSO that came from XXX about a month ago was all in order for the DMV....no mention of "off road use only" on any of the official paperwork. Once I received my MSO,....I made the rounds of the Ins office and then DMV.

Georgia sounds a lot like SC. As long as you have insurance and your bill of sale you should be fine until you get your paperwork done at the DMV.

congrats, take your time getting the bike together, leave no nut untouched! i thought i had gotten everything, and turns out i missed one of the bolts for the front brake caliper. needless to say i heard a thunking while out on a ride, yea, the brake caliper was missing a bolt and it was wiggling around on the disc... luckily i managed to find the missing bolt in the middle of the road a few miles back and put it back on with some loctite...
just remember, loctite is your friend!

That sticker peels right off. Mine was gone about 30 seconds after I noticed it!

I worked on it until 10 last night. I got the handlebars, instruments/blinkers, headlamp, rear suspension and battery done. These directions really have to be taken with a grain of salt haha. For instance, the insturctions to put the battery are before the rear suspension, but the battery wont fit unless you do the suspension first. Not to mention the directions read as follows:
Quote:
The only thing that I've had trouble with so far are missing/inpropper bolts and the headlamp didn't fit so easily. The bolts that were on the bike already that were supposed to hold the front fender on are too short to even penetrate the grommets of the fender. I tried looking around for other bolts that I could trade out, but I am short one so today I'll be going to the hardware store. The mounting procedure for the headlamp was really bad. The two top mounts were not aligned or anything making it difficult to fit right, and it was missing the grommet for the bottom hole, so I guess I'll by buying some grommets along with my bolts, lock washers and Loctite. But anyway, still waiting on my gallery for the pix. |

a couple nuts I found loose that I didnt even think about [because they're covered with a protective rubber boot] were the 2 starter solenoid cable nuts....both were just finger tight........
might want to check them.................

Go through and loc-tite and tighten EVERY nut and bolt then mark it with a Sharpie so you know which ones you've already tightened, I sound like a broken record....You won't regret it...

We didn't have much problem with missing bolts, but there were several times I had to reassure Dad that everything was alright with the bike and had to keep telling him that everything wasn't going to fit like a glove. I said, "This isn't precision engineering Dad, it's ok we'll make it fit" about 100 times. Loctite everything!! RED on muffle parts. Blue elsewhere.

[on the Roketa DB-07A]....did anyone else notice that the front wheel speed counter seal's inner diameter,..........is about 2 mm larger than the wheel hub surface it rides on?..or supposed to ride on....not going to be much of a seal..........
I ordered another counter to see if maybe mine just had an incorrect seal installed...the new counter is the same way............... the wheel hub is about 39.9 mm...............tthe seal I.D. is about 42... O.D. is 52..............width is about 5 to 6 mm............ any ideas for a fix for this?

Match the slot up with the square notch, that's it.
