Whats your dream car or cars?
If money was no object, I really like the Mercedes 65AMG. I like it's look, sporty, 600hp of raw power coming from a bi-turbo 12 cylinder, but at the same time handsome and distinguished looking. For pure sport and more in my price range, I would like a Subaru WRX. Doesn't have to be the STI package, the regular WRX will do fine. After having a Subaru in the past, I really like the up right seating position, suspension, and of coarse the AWD makes the car feel predictable and well planted.
There are many other Favorites, like the ole tried and true Corvette, that still gets decent fuel mileage, decent warranty (for a sports car) and immense amount of raw tire chewing torque. Italian sports cars are always breathtaking. Hot rods and Muscle cars get the heart pumping. Fast and Furious type cars are fun for the kid in all of us. etc, etc. What's your favorite car or cars? |

I'm not much of a CAR fan I need utility vehicle that can take me most anywhere.
I would like an AC cobra or even just a good kit car copy of it, I've always liked those.(an engine and 4 wheels) I have just begun the long project of what I'd like in a car within reason and I hope I can pull it off.I'm sure the closest I'll get to making it will look more like homers car(simpsons). |

AC Cobra....they just say it all! I nearly made a kit some 15 years ago...shold have but did a 1952 Willys Pick-up instead...needed to fit 3 in it.....back then a Cobra kit was sort of reasonable...but now....even a kit is out of reach...! But I still have my 52 willys...hasn't seen daylight in 4 years due to 10 MPG and the price of fuel!

It's not really that much money, but this is what I would want. The Ariel Atom.

Anything that will hand a CBR600RR it's a$$ on a closed track by 4 seconds has to be a blast. I think it's hilarious the way the wind peels his face back.

I hadn't seen that Ariel car before. That's the ultimate trackday weapon, and it's street legal. I brought up this thread because I've been in the market for a newer car. I have a 98 F-150 4x4 which is still in really good condition, but I want to preserve it. I've had the truck for 10 years and don't see any reason why it won't last another 10. I bought a 07 VW Rabbit with 12k miles on it today. I paid $13,500 which is in my price range. I feel good about it and I'll be glad knowing that I'm burning less fuel and hopefully having less of an enviromental impact. The bad news is that my future Dual Sport may be delayed until I get my Tax returns in spring. My son is really enjoying his Yamaha PW50 and I can't wait to get a bike to enjoy it with him.
