Modded hawk foot pegs

I have done this on a few bikes and it works well. These are stock pegs minus rubber inserts . Than I take tree climbing spikes as they are knurled and good quality steel for $2.50 each . It takes 2 per side . The cool part is they are tilted up on the end which gives me side support when cornering .

I too did a footpeg mod on my Hawk. Can't stand those stock foot pegs! I just took some 1" stock and bent it the shape that I wanted and made it jagged all the way around with a grinder for a good grip then welded them to the stock pegs. Huge difference!! However you choose to do it, just do it. Yours look great.

$500.00 X 2 for a pair of Footpegs seems overkill
About the selling price of the Hawk!

Being a former mechinc , machinist , fabricator and perfectionist has a few good qualities. Thanks
My set on KLR has hit a stump doing about 30 mph and withstood the impact . Me on the other hand was hurting for a week,

I got a cheap set of pegs off of Amazon. I had to modify the return spring on the Hawk to fit, and they tip forward ever so slightly, but they're really great when you get out and tear up the trials. I'll post a pick when I'm down in the shop again. I have to dig out from about a gazillion work emails and then go cut the grass. Here's a picture of the pegs from Amazon.

I bought that exact same set for 2010 KLR and they were ok , at best . The ones I made are 1.5 inches longer . Test rode mine today , no worries about feet slipping off .

That's exactly why I built my own. I wanted LONGER pegs, not just wider. Makes a huge difference, especially when you're wearing boots.
