RXE 250 on powersportsmax
Look what they have: https://www.powersportsmax.com/produ...ducts_id/25729
the description says it has a Zongshen engine. So, is that engine likely superior to the Hawk engines? also, why is this bike so much cheaper than a hawk?

Something looks off with that engine, I'm wondering if its another example of a 200cc with 250cc lipstick...

Website shows 229cc. It is another CG clone. Actually, it looks a whole lot like the Storm, but with standard front forks (not inverted).

Aren't Zongshen engines revered around these parts? I definitely like those graphics!

There's been an example of a hawk 250 DLX with a 64mm piston and 15mm wrist pin...also a 229cc on paper... Im looking at those stock photos and the jug looks proportionally small compared to the head and the case.... |

I compared pictures of the RXE, Raven and Hawk. RXE and Raven share similar foot peg welds to the frame, rear caliper bracket, chain guide, rear fender and engine. However side body panels seem different. All those similarities between the RXE and Raven are differences compared to the Hawk.
I don't get the pricing because it seems a tiny bit more feature rich compare to the Hawk given the RXE has an adjustable rear shock, rack and Zongshen engine. Speedo pic shows KM as primary legend vs MPH, not handy for those of us living in MPH land. Anyone have more info? |

This RXE is a dual sport frame/seating position like Hawk, Raven, and Storm. It is a nice deal at $1,199 plus $300 shipping. That's $1500. The front end seems to be the weakest feature with standard forks and a single piston caliper.
But they also sell the base Templar for just $200 more. It has the 20 hp true 250cc overhead cam engine, the inverted front forks and dual piston calipers. Both of these are super deals. Choose dual sport or enduro frame.

I did a little more digging around and as noted below it just seems to be X-Pros flavor of a Raven. I do wonder if there is a material difference in any of the frame welds between a Hawk and Raven such as how the foot pegs are welded on.
Well they must have heard us talking because the price went up $50 to $1,250. I think the Templar X is also up $50 or so from where it was a few weeks back. I imagine a collection of bikes will come back down next week. |
