Head Scratching TBR7 Gas Tank Upgrade

Howdy all, I am looking into options for installing a larger gas tank (4-6 gallons) on a 2021 TBR7 229 CC. I am doing mostly trail riding long distance. Does anyone have suggestions?

There was a Chinese bike sold in Africa that had a 5 gallon plastic tank that would actually fit the Hawk style bikes. I even tracked down just the tank to a seller on TaoBao years ago, but I can't remember the name to save my life. Next closest, somewhat easier to get tank option, is likely going to be an XR tank of some sort. Style wise it likely isn't going to look pretty, but if capacity is your thing, it's an option.

Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply Megadan! Function before style is what I practice. I don't mind if my bikes don't look pretty as long as it doesn't look like a child's toy. Ugly is great as long as it functions as expected and looks like a machine not a plastic toy. Hahaha. That being said, I have additional upgrades planned for the plastic portions of the hand guards and the headlamp as well. Not sure if you noticed the exhaust bung I had welded for a wideband O2 sensor to assist dialing in the carb (glow shift). Although, I know a lot of bikes use EFI now-a-days.

I hope you find something that works, because I would love to get a larger tank for my Magician. I ride 5-10 miles on the highway to drive 100+ miles off road I've run out of gas twice. My Storm will handle 130 miles before I start getting nervous.

Well I ordered this Clarke USA tank https://clarkemfg.com/catalog/honda/...pa_color=black . I will follow up here whether I can get it to fit securely enough for off road.

Follow up: that Clarke tank does not fit properly out of the box for a TBR7. Oh well.
