any interest in a wiki?
I wonder if the material in the excellent "current options"thread could be the first entry of a wiki? Imagine how valuable a Chinarider wiki would be -- laymen could see this kind of info for various bike types, engines, maintenance, DMV info, common issues, etc.
And because a wiki is crowdsourced it wouldn't have to fall on any one person. Everyone could pick a little section and maintain it. Even folks without firsthand knowledge could contribute by putting new info from threads into the wiki. If single sign-on (ie, same pass as forum) is important it looks like there may be free options for vBulletin. If SSO is not important it gets easier: set up the wiki adn make a link to it from the forum. If we don't do it here I'd be willing to host the wiki on one of my virtual servers. We could point wiki.chinariders.net (or whatever) there or I could make a chinariderswiki.$MYDOMAIN.net

A wiki would be really handy for this site. I'd be interested and would be glad to help out anyway I can.

Interesting indeed.
Do you have an outline of how it might go? I got the ball rolling on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Husqvarna_TR650 the TR650 being one of my bikes. I have the first screen shots too. |
