New User with a Question
Hello, I am a new user to the forum. I was pointed here by VMC when I asked a question about parts.
I am converting a Razor MX650 from electric to a 49CC gas engine. The output sprocket from the engine is a 05T and the wheel sprocket for the rear wheel is a #25. Also, in order to run a chain from the engine output to the rear wheel I will need to offset it to clear the frame. I am thinking of running a short jackshaft right behind the frame with two sprockets to go from outside the frame to the inside. I have not been able to find a jackshaft assembly to convert from 05T to #25 chain, so I was thinking of converting either the front or rear sprocket to make all the chain the same; but, I am having trouble finding the right parts to build either the #25 or 05T jackshaft. Has anyone tried this, have any ideas or can you suggest a website that might offer a good selection of parts to build something up? Thanks! |

Those are some seriously small chain sizes ,you might try McMaster Carr for chain ,sprockets ,shafts and bearings ,I would try to convert everything to a #35 because everything is available for mini bikes and go karts but no idea if you have enough room for your project .

I agree with Bruces about McMaster-Carr. Even a little 49cc powerplant will tear those tiny chains apart. By going to a #35 chain you'll find tons more parts available to really dial in the gearing. You'll be able to get pre-cut lengths of shaft material, too. Here's a link directly to the power transmission page:
