the rules vary by state. one thing in common is to have an MCO which states "motorcycle" rather than "dirt bike". if you plan to buy from a dealer locally, you can check with them. if you're buying online, there should be someone on the forum here to answer specifically for Texas. Even if you buy online, you could still check with a local shop to confirm.

DPS registers Templar X's. Just get the MCO with "Motorcycle" and get your inspection and go to the DPS.
