ATV With Tracks!!!

While looking over at the Roketa website I came across this. I wonder how it turns. I would love to see one in person.

I would love to test drive one, it looks like it would be a blast in the snow. On the other hand, I suspect the novelty would wear off rather quickly..........especially when it comes time to shell out for new tracks....... 8O

Yeah it looks like it would steer like a tank just look at the rear end and you'll see the center diff and the two brakes one on each side.

I bet the brake pads would wear out long before the tracks.(unless the tracks are made from chinese rubber )

500cc with atleast some suspension but at what cost? would a snowmobile be about the same cost or slightly more? most quads I have ridden in the snow are a lot colder than a snowmobile.

How about converting it to a 4 wheeler again could it be done?

I'm sure it could be converted to a quad with the application of lots of money and time. Probably most of the suspension would have to be rebuilt from scratch. Looks like you have your next project, T.C.! 8O

Nope, I'm not touching that ATV I looked again at the rear suspension and it has very little travel and then the controls and braking would be a major problem.

There are kits you can put on regular quads to convert them over to a more snow friendly machine. They have them for bikes also and even the chinese have a snow bike model out there somewhere.

hold it a sec I have a saved pic.

I was wondering how that tracked ATV would go over real muddy area's, I bet fairly well.

What I want to see come out of china is a 6 or 8 wheeler that floats, now that would be on my BUY list.

Those things cost so much here but they are so simple I bet the chinese could make and sell them for well under 2K.

Man, that Snow Hawk looks crazy! You'd better really like eating snow if you ride that thing, I had a hard enough time keeping my face out the snow on my old Mercury. 8O

i talked to someone with a polaris it had tracs on it , they used it for mine survey, ie: take core samples etc...
they said it had no power with the tracs, it would do the job but not get you there quick
