Ft. Myers beach, Fl. and Sanibel, Fl.
i just got back from a pretty far ride round trip out to the beaches and back. my ass is pretty damn sore. makes me think i might have to get my seat Gel padded.
any ways here we go. Bonita beach out by lovers key. i'm off the main road in the mangroves ft. myers beach/bonita bay same spot, different angle going from lover's key (bonita beach) to ft. myers beach. i freaked out a little cause i didn't notice the arms were coming down to warn about the draw bridge. there's atleast a 20 foot skid mark behind me. lover's key (behind me) on the gulf side. Tip of lover's key and the gulf of mexico bonita bay ft. myer's beach condo's more condo's, these are on the bay side. sanibel beach. i'm just off the causeway. sanibel causeway again on my out. you can see ft. myers beach in the distance. hope you guy's. it was either this for today's ride or bike stunts. i decided to take it easy today. sorry about the pics quality, they were all from my camera phone. i didn't feel like taking the digi cam with me.

sure, rub it in... got just under 3" of the white stuff here today, but I did get to have some fun with the golf cart and my neighbors 4-wheeler -- snow's good for some things.
I was getting used to the mild winter (at least for Ohio) -- now I have a feeling the real stuff will hit. Nice pics... makes me wanna head south.

yep gotta love sunny florida. it was well over 70 deg here today. heck it's still over 70 right now. i bet in the after noon it was in the 80's. but honestly it's all what you're used to. i went out on the bike last night. it was in the 70's when i left the house and by the end of the night it was in the mid to low 60's. i was freezing even with a sweat shirt on.

I spent last night in a salt spreading truck wearing insulated coveralls and two coats. John gets the pretty white stuff, we get ice and slush. Sure makes me miss those years I lived in Savannah, GA. Nice pics.
I'm thinking next winter we'll have to have a Red Star Ride in your backyard!! |

Great pictures, FMY! Speaking of weather, here in Yuma, it has been fairly dry, but chilly, believe it or not. The nights have been into the 30's (Faranheit) or 40's, and the days are getting into the 50's, or if we're lucky, the 60's. This has happened the last several weeks. The (stupid) locals have even been quoted on T.V. and in the papers that they can't wait for summer (I am definitely NOT in this group, but would prefer better riding weather...) when the temps hit about 120 Faranheit, or edging on 50 Celcius for you metric types. The main problem with the weather is the constant wind that gives a cooler wind chill factor than what the actual temp is. I do long for some riding weather!!
I should have mentioned the other problem with warm(er) places is the winter invasion of retirees from all the northern states and Canada, which I am sure have taken over Florida as well. Our "winter visitors" have the misconception that we rely on their money, rather than it enhances our economy, which leads to some heated arguments during road rage incidents ("...if it wasn't for us, Yuma wouldn't have any money..."). The bigger issue is that they clog up the streets and run into cars and motorcycles all winter long. Fortunately, due to the heavier than usual traffic, the accidents are usually at lower speeds, and injuries are lessened...

tourists would never say that around here. we do pretty good on our own. don't get me wrong i definatly make more money during the winter time but our beaches and year round nice climate bring in enough tourists and year long residents as it is. only thing that really put us in the shitter is those damn hurricanes.
