Broken spoke need help finding part

Can someone help me? I have a broken rear spoken and need to find a replacement. I have the 4.10 x 18 rear wheel that most of us have on these China bikes. If someone knows how to find one that cross references a honda part that would be great, since I'll probably get a little better quality with the replacement part.

How this happened is still a bit of a mystery to me. I was riding the bike hard on the street was decellerating and heard the spoke break. I also found one link in the chain broken on one side but was still able to ride it home. Maybe the broken link had something to do with it, who knows. I can deal with the broken link by adding another master link, but the spoke I gotta track down somehow. It looks to be about 6 1/2" long.

Thanks,
Jason

When you find a replacement you will probably want to get several of them... and it most likely will not be simple to just replace that one without taking others out - depending on the lace pattern and which one you broke.

Check to be sure your axle is straight. If you can't figure out what caused the spoke to snap then you'll probably snap more down the road. It is possible that just fatigue from poor craftsmanship was to blame, but I wouldn't have that as my #1 assumption.

Hey guys,
I'm having a really hard time with this. I don't have a way of really cross referencing a number so that I can find a replacement. Can anyone help? It looks to be about 6 1/2" long for an 18" rear wheel.

If you got time, might have to send 'em one to pattern, but Buchanan's Spoke can make anything you need. A whole set is only about fifty bucks and you could get heavy duty a little larger diameter. Give 'em a call. They're very helpful.

I've laced a few motards in my day with special order spoke sets for 17" rims.

I went ahead and took a shot in the dark and ordered both an A and B spoke for a 2004 XR250 since it has the disk brake and an 18" wheel. I'll see if it pays off when they get here.

No match with the spokes. Apart from taking one of my other spokes out does anyone know where to source these rear spokes?

Hi Jason
I ordered inner & outer spokes for the Drum rear wheel, they should be in this week, I'll keep you posted. I hope you have a drum brake, it looks like it from the pic but hard to tell. If not I can order them for a disc brake rear wheel...I'll call you when they come in.

If the picture in his avatar is of the bike with the broken spoke - it looks like a disc, but yes I see it is hard to tell for sure... hmmm now maybe it could be a drum... but that sure looks like a caliper up on top, and a master cyl. behind the brake pedal.

Hey Jason
Good News!!! The spokes are in and they are the same as the Disc brake rear wheel!! Both hubs are the same as the outside diameter goes. They changed the area where the drum was to install a disc for the brake, that was simple!! So I have spokes in stock!! I also have 46T rear sprockets, cables, levers, mirrors, front disc wheel, rear drum wheel, key blanks, batteries from Western Power Sports with a one (1) year warranty {GY-5} etc. I will be ordering a rear disc wheel with my next order. I also carry parts for the Lifan LF-250/C-25 copy of the Yamaha Route66/Virago 250 in stock.
Thanks, Bruce

This appears to be a common problem. There is another bike on ebay that suffered this same fate. What is the spoke diameter? Is this only happening on Roketas?

(I'm looking to get a china bike but this spoke thing scares me... Are they putting pedal bike spokes in these things???)
