Ummm…help?

I picked up a very used TaoTao 110 last week. All I know is that it’s a 110. No idea as which version.

I’ve gotten most of it squared away despite what the PO(s) did to try to fix it. It runs great and starts instantly. Auto trans, rear brake only, light grey frame. Once I know which version I have, I can get the correct seat for it. Already tried a ‘Universal’ seat and mine must be the only one in the universe it doesn’t fit. Not even close.

The vin plate should have a model number. That looks like the Boulder B1. Check here for parts. https://partskit.com/pages/atvs

Thanks, Jerry. Unfortunately, this one seems to have the not all that rare invisible VIN tag. Can’t even find where it might have been.

I will say this, the little booger scoots.

Cheesy, if the seat pan is in decent shape, you can take it to an upholstery shop and they can put new foam and a new cover on it for you. That's likely going to be tons cheaper than ordering a new seat outright. I had the seats on my V-Star done back in Phoenix and they turned out amazing! Just a thought.

Look at the left rear fender. The kid who rides this might grow up to become Batman.....

If it had a seat pan, Mrs.C and I would do it. Alas, no soap.

Found out that the charging system is barely functioning, so I have a new stator coming, along with a reg/rec, cdi, and starter solenoid. Figure I may as well have those on hand.

Today is an errand day, so no work on it. I have breakfast with Old Weird Harold in a bit, then to the Ural shop to pick up the new sidecar fender, Walgreens, and probably American Science and Surplus for some 1" nylon strap material.

Note to self: when riding the ATV at WOT while standing, duck when approaching the dogs' run rope. It will leave a mark.

I know it's not funny but got that mental picture going in my brain.

The bad part is I knew it was there and said, "Self, be sure to duck." That little turd is so fast that I was at the rope before I realized it. Tried to duck but the rope caught me in the face, knocked off my hat and glasses, and gave me a small rope burn. Self replied with "Slick move, jackass."

It is affectionately known as ASS.

In that same vein, my pre GNA employer made spray painting equipment. The orifices on the fluid nozzles were sized .0xx”. If the nozzle had an orifice of .069, the nozzle was denoted as 69 for siphon set up or 69A for a pressure set up. We also made pressure nozzles out of stainless steel, so a 69A became a 69A SS. My young children had a lot of fun with that.

One can only hope.

I’m planning on pulling the carb for cleaning today, along with replacing the fuel line and filter. Anyone have any specs on float settings? The engine looks an awful like the Honda S90 I had when Mrs. C and I were in high school a half century ago, so would a late Honda Cub manual be a good source for engine specs?

Jeez, this is the first Chinarig I’ve owned since I joined this group years ago with a 2007 Hi-Bird. Which was quickly gotten rid of.

The carb turned out to be just dirty. I downloaded a Honda CT110 manual for the engine specs, so good there.

I was wrong about the stator. I got the wheels off the ground and checked. It charges pretty well, so I have some spare parts now.

Returned the first seat and ordered a different one. The new starter has already locked up. Pulling that apart today to see what's what, though I may replace the solenoid first. Seems like quite a voltage drop at the output terminal.

Bought some nylon webbing for the foot rests. That looks like a PITA to replace, so it will be last.

I had the boys in the garage to see it run yesterday. Eli's eyes about popped out of his head when I revved it. Owen ran out of the garage, covering his ears.

Hoping I can wrap this up next week.

Hey Zeus Aitch Christo! One day of use.

Bear with me on the pic, and future pics. Flickr and I are parting ways after another increase in Flickr Pro fees and another reduction in services. Using Imgur now and after using Flickr since 2008, it's a whole new learning curve.
