Generally speaking, anything with a fine-wire electrode, or a machined electrode will be set out of the box for maximum spark and flame kernel propagation performance. Unless the gap is something ridiculous out of the box or there's evidence of damage or mishandling, plug it in and run it!

Any NGK plug with a number on the end of the plug code is pre-gapped to that size.
The 9 on the end of DPR8EIX-9 means that the gap is set to .9mm or .036 in.
