Does anyone here repair china bikes for a living?

I was visiting an urban part of town where a lot of environmentally conscious yuppies and well as working class folks reside. There was a scooter shop that specializes in Vespa, and there were old Vespas flowing out of the parking lot. I talked to the owner/mechanic, and he can't fix/refurbish them fast enough. Have no allusion about it; life is tough. He ain't going to get rich wrenching, but he has steady income, is his own boss and not relying on gov't handouts.

I've thought about it, but haven't done anything yet. If I did, it would be a part-time gig out of my garage. I gotta keep my day job.

I kinda do it as a hobbie-- I have no ideas of it replacing my day job, but it's something different-- Interesting sideline, etc.

Doing something you like to do and turning it into something you have to do is a bit of a problem for most. You then also have to deal with Joe Public and that's not for everyone either.

I'd like to sell quads and bikes but the service has to come with it, and I spent enough time wrenching for money and hated it... plus, I'm not sure how much I could make doing it so bit scary to dive in to it.

I really enjoy boats and one time day dreamed about the perfect job, owning a marina. Then I started to think about it. the longest working days would be on the weekend when all you friends are out on the water enjoying themselves.

I am sure there is an untapped market there but I do see lots of adds on Craigs List for service available for China quads and buggies.
