Help Sought on New Purchase
Hi,
I ride a Kawasaki Prairie 400 4x4 and I'm interested in getting my kids a quad each. I'm looking at the 419 Mini-Bull from bestpriceatvs.com -- it's a very attractive package and price. I just started learning about Chinese ATV's and I'm discovering that there are quite a few manufacturers. Does anyone have any experience with bestpriceatvs.com? Is there a better company to buy from? Does anyone have any experience with the 419 mini-bull? Is there a generally considered more reliable brand of chinese ATVs? Thank you, Joseph |

Wow that's an eye-opener. Thanks for the link guys. Once again I fall back on my "I wonder if these businesses monitor this board and other forms of media." Mighty short-sighted to treat customers in such a manner.

Wow!
Wow, indeed!
Thanks so much for that video. Any recommendations for online shopping, brands/manufacturers? I'm looking for 2 quads, minimum 110cc with 27" seat height and 5" ground clearance and over 225lb capacity. I'd like 2 of these and would like to pay about $600 each (including any delivery/tax). But, as my wife says, I'm gonna be one unhappy camper if things start falling apart in the woods. Thanks, Joseph |

I own a pair of Kazuma/Redcat (Stannic is the manufacturer) and had a few issues with them, but they've been fun vehicles. ( Still going strong) If you're looking for something 'bulletproof', then you're better off with a jap make, but be warned even then toys break. It's a fact of life.

Check http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html and see if they have listings for your area. If so, check the Motorcycles and RVs For Sale section. It's possible you'll find a local or nearby dealer. I found two in my area (after buying online). If you can get one from a local dealer you'll have a better chance of getting one that's in working order when you get it home. It seems many of the ATVs are the same design and use quality engines but the assembly and welding differs among the major factories.

Raceway
I checked out raceway and it looks like they're substantially more expensive. Now I fully realize that price isn't everything and that a low price is easy to quote if one is not going to actually deliver.
Regarding a local dealer, I'm in the NY Metro area, but, like just about everything else I buy, I need to order this online. Any other reputable online quad dealers? Thanks |

Yeah its easy to undercut the competition if you dont plan to send the item, it had to be pretty bad to make the news.
That link I posted earlier is bruce's site who is a dealer in ohio. He might be able to help you out although I think ohio law states he is not allowed to ship but he may know of a NY dealer that is good or maybe you could make the short drive to him and pick up the quads. Remember also that there is a dealer section on chinariders that you could ask for assistance in. |

t-motorsports.com
t-motorsports.com's prices look okay (shipping adds a lot though), but I can't determine who the manufacturers are for any of the ATVs.
Can anyone fill me in? Thanks |

ATVDiscounter.com looks like it could be a good place to shop.
Anyone have any experiences with them? |

Shinima
I'm leaning now towards buying the Shinima Firefox. It's more expensive, but after reading up on the sunl disatisfactions, I really don't think I could deal with so much maintenance.
I am concerned that the Firefox's drive chain is fully exposed. Anyone have any experience with this brand/model? |

About the chain, what kind of riding are your kids going to be doing?
mud? rocks? deep sand? Even mud, rocks and deep sand wont have to much of an impact on the chain but it will need regular maintenance to maximize chain life buts its really not a big deal. I've always been a fan of the chain drive but thats because it allows for more suspension travel but I can see where a shaft drive would be perfect for a kids atv. You could probably find or make a better rear chain brake disc guard if you really thought it was needed. |
