EFI Problem Advice
One of our RX3 demos has a problem.
It cranks just fine, but won't start. The fuel pump does not pressurize during the ignition sequence. No sound. But the rest of the ignition sequence is normal. We've checked:
We also noticed that the fuel gauge registers empty, and the fuel light flashed....and the tank is totally full. Before we start pulling the tank off to check the pump, are we missing something? TIA for the input! |

Use a 12v jumper wire to direct wire to battery the fuel pump to see if it runs.

Kill switch on handlebars?
If the fuel pressure was pumped up the first try, and you didn't notice, it might not pump on subsequent tries. Did you check the fuses with a meter? The connectors under the tank may be loose - fuel pump and fuel gauge.

It's the fuel pump. No go. It *tries* to start but is frozen inside.
I don't have an order of parts coming for several weeks, but need a pump. CAC has one for US$235 which seems excessive. I'd look around the web but cannot, for the life of me, find the Delphi part number. It's a T-11 series pump. The stamping on it are as follows: First line: 28128525 0755 Second line: 6954 A Delphi IN Anyone know a part number? Sourse for the part? |

Zongshen tells me the pump is Delphi, part number is 28257571 which, as far as I can find, is the entire module, and then I can only find it on Russian websites.
Anyone know where I may be able to find this pump? |

Sounds like a warranty issue. Who did you buy the bike from? Where are you? If you bought it from CSC I sure they will send you a new pump. If you are an importer on some Caribbean island perhaps CSC with work with you as an intermediary with Zongshen.

I had the same problem. No matter what I did, the pump motor was frozen.
Delphi was uncooperative on a pump, and I also thought CSC was spendy. I have a relationship with Zongshen and got the pump from there, but shipping put the net price around US$75, still far less than CSC.. I saw that Taobao unit. The shipping to the US is around US$12. So close to US$60 or so. I got the unit in about 18 days. It's absurd that you have to buy the entire unit when just the pump failed. BTW: reverse polarity did nothing. It wanted to run but doesn't. |
