New member with a new Coolster on the way
Hi Guys,
I am not new to ATVs but this will be my first China bike. It is going to be for my daughters to learn on and as an "extra" bike when others want to come along. I like to take extremely good care of my things and this will be no different. I read about draining the factory oil before even starting it. What is the BEST oil to run in these for break-in? How long for break-in and then what oil to change to? Any other tips for assembly? Hopefully it will be here next week some time. Thanks, -Eli

Welcome to the madhouse! Remember, nothing happens here unless you post pictures so we can eyeball it.
I run 10-40 in my quads because it's what I have around. I replaced the stir fry oil they came with, drove both for around 5 hours and changed again. Could have been overkill but I know it's good to go now. I also changed the transmission gear oil before I started it which was probably overkill but I like piece of mind. Where you from? Ca US here. What size Coolster did you order?

I am from the U.S. Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I ordered the 3150 DX2 after going back and forth on a lot of makes and models.
I would love to post pics but it is not here yet. I can post pics of my other two bikes but they are not Chinese. -Eli

Welcome to the forum! Good choice on the quad. I have a 2014 model and has given me great service. The shock will be stiff at first but will loosen up after a while.

Here are pics from the neighboring country of Japan. Hoping the Coolster will be a great compliment to these.
1995 Suzuki King Quad 300. Mostly stock, runs like a top. Also pulls plow duty. 14K miles. 2015 Suzuki King Quad 750 PS. Not stock. 245 miles.

Wow! Monsters! Super nice quads!
You may want to get into a "support group" with Swampy. He has a big Grizzly and added a pair of Kandi 150's (similar to the Coolster 150). He may have some good insight into making the transition. ;-)

The little Coolsters will be a bit rougher on the body due to overly stiff suspension and have more bounce when to compared to something like that big Suzuki, but they can provide good service if tasked within there intended limits. I love the three I have purchased.

Love my coolsters. When you get it, I suggest you take the linkage and spacers off the trans and shifter and take the arm off the trans and put threadlock on all bolts you removed. Even though there's nylock nuts on the long bolts for the linkage, they still loosened on me as well as the two 8mm bolts that hold the arm on the trans. I say to do it now because it's easier then doing it after the footwell is installed. Other than that issue, my unit has been great. My wife's (red) has been good too but hasn't had as much abuse as mine. I will say that the red one had the offset rear rims that allow the swapping side to side to get wider stance. Mine (blue) did not. They were 0 offset rims. Red one also had different rear tires. I have since added spacers to the rear of mine to get the rear axle track spaced out.

Great looking Coolsters. I ordered a red one. It should be here Monday. I wonder what determines the different tires, wheels, brakes, etc. it must just be totally random. I ordered mine through superior power sports and it shipped out of Texas. I'm looking forward to seeing it and hoping it arrives undamaged.

Nice stable TJ. I noticed that the winch is in use on the plow. I'm assuming that it's used to raise and lower the blade. Is this common? It makes sense to me and far better than using a lever.

It's a 10"x3" x3/8" thick chunk of snowplow cutting edge. I cut it in a brake to make it square, ordered some 5.5"Lx2.5Wx1/2" U-bolts from a local spring shop. I bought the Coleman UTV hitch from Tractor supply. I drilled a 3/4" hole in the plate for the utv hitch bolt and bolted it to the plate... after many attempts to torque it correctly so it wouldn't move, I ended up tacking the non bolted end to the plate. The plate is U-Bolted to the axle. I thought I may have to tack the u-bolts to the axle to keep it from spinning or slipping, but so far it's been awesome. The utv rxcver has a pin hitch spot (for lawn tractor type lawn carts) and a spot I threw a 1-7/8ths ball in to haul my trailer from backyard to driveway.
