Doh! Tao Tao TForce 110

Hi,

I recently picked up a tao tao tforce 110cc 2017 vintage. It needed a new carb, I bought 2 from amazon. Installed one and a new plug. It was a bear to start but finally got it after moving both needles. The issue I'm having is, my idle has to be high in order for it to work. Once its in gear it's perfect but once you stop she stalls and it also chokes on top end. I've messed with both needles, followed some tutorials on youtube on how to set them up but no luck getting this thing functioning properly. Stock setting on air/fuel was 1.5 turn out and idle 0.5. I think in 2.5 out and almost 1.5 on idle.

Did you use the jets that came with the carb? if so they are likely wrong.

I did, all the stuff it came with I used. You're talking about the needle in the sleeve that connects to throttle cable?

Best thing to do is open up the old carb and see what size main jet and pilot jet came in it then install the same size jets in the new carb. Adjust idle mixture 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated. That will give you a good starting point and adjust from there.

no that's just the needle, there are two jets in the bowl. A pilot jet that controls low speed fueling and a main jet that works with the needle to control high speed fueling. They send random jets with them normally that may not work for your application. Take the stock carb and remove the bowl to see what's in it for jets and use that as a starting point. You might have to grind off the screw heads if they are the security type.
