2023 Lifan X-pect. 97 miles. Southern NH - $1750 OBRO

Hello everyone,

I'm currently selling a 2023 Lifan X-pect. I have it also listed on NH Craigslist. It currently only has 97 miles, which may go up slightly as I do occasionally ride it. I removed the X-pect decals to give it a clean look. I also added a Tusk shifter.

I bought new from PowersportsMax and have the documentation to register it, so whoever buys will be the first registered owner. Everything works perfectly and it is a great bike. The reason I'm selling is because I bought a cruiser and don't have a need for two motorcycles. I'd be willing to deliver locally for a small fee.

$1750 OBRO

Mind if I ask why you're selling it? Just not the bike you thought it would be?

I bought it as a bike to commute to work with, while I'm doing the cg250 transplant on my Vader 150.
It's better on gas, perfect for the city, and I love it for that.
I wasn't going to do highway rides anymore, but I think I've changed my mind.

Some friends living in the next county are doing some longer rides with highway.
The Xpect can do 60 mph reliably, but anything more depends on traffic and the wind direction. So I needed a bigger biketo keep up with them.

The CFMoto 450 will be able to maintain 80 easily, and tops out at about 110.

Also, my place can't host any bikes, and I somehow already managed to fit 2. I won't be able to fit a 3rd. So I need to get rid of one.

The Vader 150 with CG250 transplant will be faster and lighter than the Xpect, though it's gas mileage will be worse. It'll be a commuter and fun bike for the short rides.
The size and weight and power were the determining factors for me to let go of the Xpect. Besides, the Xpect is nearly brand new and I already have a buyer for it.

So you are Xpect23 and you are also Prodigit? Two accounts, one person?

I did not know you could do that. Maybe you are not Prodigit. Sorry!

Buyer beware... If your name is not the 1st assigned buyer on the original MCO, you may need specific documents to take title and register. If it is blank (no buyer named), then you will still need a Bill of Sale (probably!).

A signed title, in the previous owner's name, may still need an ID/OD before you can transfer title if the vehicle is from another State.

My advice is do not buy a vehicle with someone else's name on the MCO. Sure, it is yours, but good luck getting a title. Contact your motor vehicle office/title bureau and ask about this. As I said, you may end up going through the legal system and waiting a long time to get a title. I know it makes no sense, since you wouldn't have the MCO if it was stolen!! But laws don't always make sense. Maybe they just want their pound of flesh on the transaction, and of course, TAX from every sale including the original owner!

Buyer beware... If your name is not on the original MCO, you may need specific documents to take title and register. I was forced to go through court to get a declaratory judgement and the motor vehicle department had to do their due diligence (title search) before I was issued the order from the court to use for transferring title. This was an out of State vehicle. Even though I had the original MCO, and the dealer used the second assignment, the title office would not accept it without the Motor Vehicle department doing the search, and the court ordered Motor Vehicle to issue me a title after the title search was complete. THEY CALLED IT A SKIPPED ASSIGNMENT. It took 8 months, and I ended up going to the main office at the State Capitol to get the title issued.

A signed title, in the previous owner's name, may still need an ID/OD before you can transfer title if the vehicle is from another State.

Lol, sorry no.i mistakenly thought this was the thread of me selling mine for a CFMoto bike.
I also sell mine for the same price, but mine is only 3 months old, and has a lot of work done to it to extend longevity and mpg.

1750 is a high price for a bike selling for $2k new.
I know I can sell it at that price, because I did all the "upgrades".

Mine comes with windscreen, trunk, engine and frame coated in engine enamel, LED headlight, Bearings greased, chain plastidip coated, seat padded, 3d mesh seat cover, cellphone mount, all bolts loctited, handlebar risers, iridium spark plug, exhaust painted with Rust-Oleum 2000F high heat paint, and more... Also chain lubed, proper break in, oil changes and valve adjustments done at proper intervals...

I'm not so certain others will have done the same to their bikes.

Ah. So you are saying, maybe that you applied for, and received a title in your name? Buyers will want to know...

OP (Xpect23), sez the buyer would be the first person to register it, so it's not a title, it is an MCO presumably with his name on it. Your post, third in this thread, seemed to be OP answering post #2. I guess you were just inadvertently hijacking his thread. I am sure that you don't want any interested buyers assuming you are selling a bike with an MCO in your name.

Yes, Prodigit completely hijacked the thread, lol. You are correct, I have the MCO, which does not have the buyer information filled out, and the bill of sale. Thanks for the heads up. I thought that would be enough, but now I plan to obtain the title just to be safe and will relist once I have it.

The bike has been great. No issues, everything works like it should. I am not in a rush to sell. I ride the X-Pect mostly in the neighborhood and brought it to a couple of campsites, so I never ended up registering it for the street. I also own a cruiser that is my main road bike. I do not need two motorcycles, so I'm thinking of selling this and potentially picking up a trail bike for the campsites.

Cool! No name on the MCO, or the name of the buyer (!) is probably important in any State. How about a buyer's contract or Bill of Sale from the vendor. Now That could be a problem. Hey, I am not trying to cause a problem, but I think that any buyer will need a bill of sale from the original vendor for tax purposes. That's how they calculate the taxes, and it is NOT optional!

I bought it new from PowersportsMax, so yes, I have the Bill of sale from the Vendor and the MCO in hand. Thanks for the help!

You can title and register it. Someone else may run into the same issue I did ("skipped assignment").

Title bureau sent me to get a declaratory judgement from my local County court because the MCO was NOT in my name. I did have a dealership contract in my name, but the MCO was not.

The SAME will probably apply if the bill of sale is not in the buyer's name. It will be considered a skipped assignment (taxes NOT collected when YOU bought it). If you sell it, you cannot re-assign on the MCO. You have NO TITLE in your name to transfer the title (you don't have one). So if you do not re-assign (you say there is no name on the MCO), then the bill of sale (IN YOUR NAME) will cause a problem for the buyer.

In most States, if you have the MCO, a bill of sale, and the Bill of Sale has your name on it, they will title it. Maybe you can print a generic bill of sale, fill that out, and that will work? Good luck!

There's got to be a loophole somewhere.
Many people buy bikes, and never register them. Use them to off-road on.

I happen to know the loophole for my state (WA) because I had to use it. The previous owner used my xpect exclusively used the bike as a dirt bike w/o onroad registration. He registered it as a dirt bike for offroad use. However, like any owner should IMO (I work in legal but what do I know?) he got the title regardless. Can't speak for all states, but if you don't have the title, there's a strong argument to be made that you don't even own the bike in the eyes of the law.
*Subject to various levels of debate by state.
*Many states require you to get the title of the vehicle in a certain timeframe regardless, with varying penalties.

Because of the previous owner ONLY registered the xpect as an offroad dirt bike, my state's clueless DMV originally tried to argue that my xpect could only ever be a dirt bike!

Despite me presenting them with a title that clearly said MOTORCYCLE in the vehicle type, they refused to register my MOTORCYCLE as an onroad vehicle and suggested instead that I MUST register it as a converted dirt bike, pay additional to fees (to them of course!) and I could never get a plate for a bike. To add hilarity to the situation, this is not even close to how the converted dirt bike law works in Washington either!

I realized I was arguing with idiots, so I turned around, walked out, and immediately went to another DMV, who was able to register my MOTORCYCLE in about 5 mins.

It is not uncommon to run into different levels of competency at different title offices. I eventually had to go to the home office run by state employees to get a title for my KTM
I bought it out of State and the MCO was never submitted by the previous owner to get a title. Yes, he had the original MCO, unfortunately the previous owner never got a title. They called it a skipped assignment, but I was able to get a clear title.

Exactly where in Washington do you live, rideout ?
