Hand Guards
I bought a set of universal hard guards, however when I went to fit them I found that my handle bar is partly solid and could not take the securing bolts. By partly solid I mean it’s not the full diameter of the bar, okay a photo would have been a good idea at this point.
Initially I thought it was just excess material which started 15mm in side the bar and could be either knocked or drilled out. It now looks like it may run the quite deep in to the bar (5mm drilled and no sign of the end). Has any one else seen this problem, apologies upfront if this is a dumb question? Regards CT Really think this bike was a Friday build |

Hand guards
I assume you are refering to the expanding bolts that slip inside the bar end, which Ive never found satisfactory. Why not drill and tap the solid section to take the outer fixing bolt, I cant see it being too deep.
Jonathan PS my bars are hollow. |

I'd guess the bars have extra material / weight added to act as a vibration dampener.
You could try the drill/tap method (might need a fat bolt because I'm guessing the material doesn't fill the entire bar and is just around the edges) --- or might be easier to pick up a set of replacement bars.

I just knocked out the little plugs in the ends of the bars and used the expansion bolt assembly.... Rock solid..... Very little vibration now.

I would guess that they are just standard full-size dirt bike bars. Any bike shop should have them for ya.
