RX3 Fork Upgrade with Adjustable Damping 2016 Forks on 2015
I’m upgrading the forks on my 2015 to:
https://store.cscmotorcycles.com/LEF...-p/z45-110.htm The forks on my 2015 have developed leaking seals at about 12k mileage. To fair I’ve push them through pretty rough muddy terrain. I realize just replacing seals is the cheaper option but I’ve got limited garage time between now and the next planned ride and figured I would just swap them for 2016 forks. What is the general consensus on the the 16 forks adjustability? Should I immediately replace the oil with Bell Ray 10w fork oil? |

Fork oil depends on your weight and riding style. I'm mostly pavement twisties, currently weigh about 235. I like Bel Ray 10w, but many will say tranny fluid (ATF). Regarding the stock stuff, it should be changed anyway.

2016 forks have been installed and tested. Seem to be a bit more plush then the 2015 forks But also the 2015 forks had about 12,000 miles on them. I’ve replace the OEM oil with Bel Ray 10w and have settled on clickers set mid value. If I start blowing through the travel on rough stuff I can always add more compression.
Not sure it was worth the upgrade vs just replacing seals and bushings on the original 2015 forks. But it was a time saver. Anyway, old forks that need new seals and a service are going up in the classified section. http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...811#post346811 |
