Not to sound ignorant, but what bike is the gs200? (i.e. brand, type such as sport bike, etc)?

Hi All
I was looking a T-Motorsports web site TMS stands for their name {TMS=T-Motor Sports}.

The American Lifan name for this bike is The LF200GYIII. It is a 200cc Sportbike with the OHC {Over Head Cam} engine in it. The top speed of this motorcycle is 70mph. They are Great starter bike for the street.

They all have the {GS} on the side of the bikes and they are a cross between a Suzuki & Yamaha body Style. The rear half looks like a Suzuki {GS500} and the front half looks like a Yamaha {R6-600} depending on what model and year you look at. I hope that this helps.

I've looked at them too. I haven't bought a bike because I can't decide what I really want. I know my wife isn't going to want me to buy more than one bike. If I bought a DS it would be driven mostly on the street. So I tend to think one of these street bikes might be better.

Here's an ebay auction for one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Zongs...QQcmdZViewItem

It's kinda pricey at $2k but the motor is a 250 (most I've seen are 200). But for that price I'd be tempted to just spring for the Hyosung GT250. It's more expensive but if I'm going to be owning it for quite a while it would be worth it.

Still, the cheap thrill of a $1000 DS is enticing. And having something to just spin around on for fun sounds great.

The Zongshen 250 is probably a better bike than the Lifan 200 in the sportbike realm, however, it is twice as much. Tacking on another $1K over the price of the Zongshen, and you can look at the Hyosung or United Motors Comet 250, which have been around a few years now and have proven themselves. It all seems to depend on if one wants to spend $1K for the basic, $2K for the more deluxe, or $3K for the super deluxe. "Speed costs; how fast do you want to go?..."

I almost forgot...with the Hyosung/UM model, you are in Ninja 250 territory. (I would go with the "naked" Comet over the Ninja, however--I am not convinced of Kawasaki's quality!)

From a former Ninja 250 owner, the Ninja 250 is a class bike. Good quality and good value and an absolute blast! I have had 3 Kawasaki's over the years and never a quality issue.
But we all know there are lemons in everything and culcune you must have seen some of the Kawi lemons.

Brand new Ninja 250 $2999 list (12-month/unlimited mileage limited factory warranty)
and you can find good slightly used ones this time of year in the $2000-2500 range.

If you do include it in your choices look at this site for experience and advice:
http://ninja250.kingston.net/board/

I know this is a China bike sight, and I love the China bikes, but just wanted to share my positive experience with my Ninja 250.

Frankly, I don't care where it comes from as long as it fulfills my fun requirements.

I was being more tongue in cheek. However, when I had my DR250, I had two friends, one with the KX500 and the other with the CR500. My friend with the CR always rode his much harder, and never had problems with it, while the KX was always breaking something!

I do prefer the look of the Comet to the Ninja, however, and that would be my reasoning for buying a not-so well known bike to a much more well-known bike.

LF200 vs Zongshen250

okok here is the deal: Zongshen250 vs Lifan200 sportbikes. Zongshen has alittle more HP/Torque, but also a bit more weight. The 30cc increase is barely noticeable. The Lifan has a kickstarter, mine starts the bike even when the battery is completely drained, Zongshen is dead at that point. Zongshen has a rear disk brake, and dual front brakes, Lifan has single front and drum back, Zongshen wins here. Lifan has places to get parts, a complete new engine is 300-400$, Zongshen has few to none parts available. In the end, the double price tag may not be worth the difference. I do agree, if you want to get higher quality then Lifan and dont mind paying alittle more, get a Hyosung 250, they rock...

Hi Vlad
The only bikes that are made by Hyosung and re-badged for United Motors are the 250cc and larger Sportbike & Cruisers. The 200cc and smaller bikes are Not made by Hyosung. I know, being I am a UM Dealer. I hope that this helps.
